Mark Zuckerberg's Desk: Facebook Founder Posts Photo Following IPO Announcement (PHOTO)

Mark Zuckerberg might be a multi-billionaire, but a recent picture of his desk at Facebook headquarters reveals he's still pretty down to earth, even after yesterday's much anticipated IPO announcement.

An Apple computer, Gatorade bottle, and a take-out container sit atop the Facebook founder's desk in Palo Alto, Calif. Also, a giant poster with the message "Stay Focused & Keep Shipping" suggests sometimes even Zuck needs some encouragement.

Just hours after Facebook filed for its IPO on Feb. 1, the Facebook CEO posted the picture, which one New York Times writer said sends a clear message: "Mr. Zuckerberg was not going to let all his billions go to his head."

The picture garnered around 70,000 "likes" and nearly 6,000 shares on Zuckerberg's public profile as of Feb. 2, an accomplishment that might not be so difficult for a user with some 11.3 million subscribers.

Just last year, a Facebook security glitch allowed hackers to access users' private photos, including Zuckerberg's. Soon, pictures of Zuckerberg cooking and handing out Halloween candy were published around the Internet, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Mashable points out that although Zuckerberg has generally kept his lifestyle low-key, he did spend about $700,000 traveling on a private jet in 2011.

With more than 800 million users, Facebook is estimated to be worth around $100 billion. The company's upcoming initial public offering seeks to raise about $5 billion.

If people would refrain from clicking on stupid banner ads - this company would die in seconds.

If I had the choice and/or opportunity to actually sit down and chat with Z-berg or Jack Dorsey - I'd choose Dorsey. After listening to interviews and reading about each, Dorsey comes across as 'deeper' and can relate to so many more different things in life.

Zuckerberg is not just like us. He is a high-functioning techie with Apsberger's and a poor to non-existant ability to relate to other human beings.

yeah, this is what you tell yourself to deal with your failing life and with the fact that you will never be successful as him. Also, is "asperger" and the guy shows none of the symptoms.

They've been grooming the iconic image of Zuckerberg in the public mind for what...five long years now? I mean if this company were what they make it out to be, would they have to make a movie about his personality....years before the IPO? Seems like we're being set up big time.

A regular guy who'll sell any personal information and claims ownership to all posted material to sell to literally ANYONE. What a scumball.

Even an extremely wealthy businessman goes to work, sits at a desk, sips coffee or tea, etc - what were folks expecting, for Zuck to unscrew his head from its robot body and fly into space for a Skype chat with SuperJesus? He's saving that for Barbara Walters.

No matter what anyone thinks of Zuckerberg as a person, there is one thing that is simply fact:

Every tech company in the USA that is larger than a mom and pop or garage size operation assists various governmental agencies with national security.

The laws that have been passed in the last decade have made it worse, but even before then it was already true. All telecoms give access to the NSA and NRO and always have (ATT, the former Bells, Verizon/GTE, etc....). Color printer manufacturers watermark all prints with invisible to the eye yellow. Google, Facebook, Yahoo, MSN, Wordpress, AOL,........etc......etc.......etc.......  give data mining access to our government.

Anyone that thinks this is not happening with ALL tech companies is simply being childishly naive.

An ethically challenged mega-billionaire with an IQ of about 250, with access to and control over all our private data, isn't like anybody I know.

If he had an IQ of 250 he could actually do something amazing. I wouldn't give him too much credit .. There isn't anything innovative about the technology required to produce Facebook. The guy just wanted the pictures of hot college women he wished he could get ... and it evolved into something more ... he got lucky.
