Stephanie Mack, Bernie Madoff Son's Widow, Returns To NYC Home Where Suicide Occurred

NEW YORK -- The widow of Bernard Madoff's son says she threw up when she returned to the New York apartment where he hanged himself.

Stephanie Mack had vowed never to go back there after Mark Madoff's December 2010 suicide.

But Mack says in the March issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine that she took her two young children to the apartment to return "normalcy" to their lives.

Mack wrote a memoir, "The End of Normal: A Wife's Anguish, A Widow's New Life."

She's dropped Madoff from her name. She and Mark chose Mack by combining the M from Madoff with ACK, the airport code for Nantucket, where the couple married. They didn't want their children to carry the Madoff name.

Bernie Madoff is serving 150 years in prison for a vast Ponzi scheme.

All those years, millions of dollars were being ripped off of honest people and these folks lived the high life, socialite parties, exclusive privileges, private schools for your kids, nice cars and homes in select neighborhoods, and Mark was one of the key individuals benefiting from ALL of that.

Changing your last name isn't going to change the fact that your husband and his family were a bunch of thieves and liars, Stephanie.

Everyone wants to dance but no one wants to pay the piper.

I dunno....when it comes to the sins of the Father, and how they get passed on to the rest of the family, sometimes it does land in your lap by accident. People, supposedly VERY SMART people, believed in Bernie, and treated him like Royalty, like a King. Why wouldn't his family, especially his daughter in-law? She's not reviewing financial records, daily, or checking in with the SEC, who saw, and approved Bernie for years as well... If Stephanie is guilty of anything, it's spending the fortune her husband brought home, and reading about her husbands family's success, constantly. Bernie knew he was in deep for years, and kept up the facade with amazing control. I wish her and her children well, and hope they heal from their losses. And remember, Mark achieved at the one thing Bernie and Ruth failed at: Suicide. The Son has paid the price...I think that should allow his kids and wife the publics compassion. Mark convinced me he was sorry and ashamed. Bernie and Ruth? Not so much...just mad, that the rest haven't been busted along with them. Yet.

I will boycott any media that reports on this woman. She is lucky she can still sit in a pretty dress on an expensive sofa in her tribeca apartment. She should not be making money "a living" off the public any longer. Please Stephanie, just go away.
