Earlier this week, Mayor Dawn Zimmer of Hoboken, N.J. told "Jersey Shore" stars Snooki and JWoww that they couldn't film their spinoff in her town. Friday on "Wendy Williams," (weekdays on Fox) the ladies delivered their own message for Zimmer: "Keep our names out of your mouth. We're onto the next one!" JWoww declared.
Zimmer rejected MTV's request for a film permit on Tuesday, citing "public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents." In her latest statement, she invited Snooki and JWoww to visit the city, "just not with a film crew." Banned from Hoboken, Jersey City and the Pennsylvania town of Jersey Shore are rumored to be possible alternate locations for the spinoff MTV describes as a look at how the ladies "deal with life and love when the vacation is over."
The war of words is the latest salvo in an ongoing feud the "Jersey Shore" has been having with Jersey politicians. NJ Governor Chris Christie has been an outspoken "Jersey Shore" critic on the grounds that it paints an unflattering picture of the state. In September, he vetoed a $420,000 tax credit the show was due to receive as part of the New Jersey Development Authority.
Moving away from their Garden State political issues, JWoww and Snooki took on a few more serious topics on "Wendy Williams." Sporting New York Giants jerseys, the reality stars showed their Super Bowl support for the tri-state team, and Snooki "proved" the pregnancy rumors false by drinking the beer Williams offered her.
In other hard-hitting "Jersey Shore" news, on Thursday night's episode Snooki peed on the dancefloor at Karma.
