Nbc Awake Premiere Date

NBC has finally set a premiere date for their new drama "Awake," starring Jason Isaacs. The dual reality drama will premiere on Thurs., March 1 at 10 p.m. EST, replacing ratings-challenged "The Firm," which will move to Saturdays at 9 p.m., beginning Feb. 11.

From executive producers Kyle Killen ("Lone Star") and Howard Gordon ("Homeland"), "Awake" is a drama about Detective Michael Britten (Isaacs) who finds he’s living two parallel lives. He’s involved in a car accident that seems to have killed both his son (Dylan Minnette) and wife (Laura Allen), yet his mind creates an ingenious coping mechanism in which he now lives two separate lives -– one where his wife survived and the other where his son did.

Trying to regain some normalcy, Michael returns to solving crimes in both worlds with the help of two different partners, Detective Isaiah "Bird" Freeman (Steve Harris) and Detective Efrem Vega (Wilmer Valderrama). Michael is assigned a different case in each reality, but he will quickly discover that his dual existence in parallel universes is actually a powerful tool, as the cases seem to be connected.

Until "Awake" premieres, NBC will air repeat episodes of "Grimm" on Thursdays at 10 p.m., beginning next week.

Watch a sneak peek of "Awake" below.

Why is everyone ragging on this show for booting 'The Firm'? And would you rather they cancelled it altogether or put it on a night when ratings don't matter as much? I'm happy that ABC and NBC are smart enough now to know that some shows are going to go south and they need to have mid-season replacements ready, there at least two from each network that look interesting. Most of the shows that I like started about this time of the year on ABC (Castle and body of Proof), and with Jason Isaacs playing the lead, this should be fun to watch, even if it has me flashing back to 'My Own Worst Enemy'. -Ara

I think Awake sounds very interesting, but I'm not sure if moving The Firm to Saturdays is a good idea it could very well spell death for the show that is getting better and better. I can't imagine many people will be wanting to stay home to watching Saturday night programming.

Wow, "Awake" sounds like a stinking, fetid pile...

Such a fascinating idea—destroyed by the inclusion of Wilmer Valderrama. How I wish I could have watched it.

He's not in it too much, I promise! And I'm not sure we're supposed to anyway...

NBC has no clue when it comes to TV programming.

Sat. night at 9:00?
There haven't been any new network shows on Sat nights for at least 4-6 years.

I have to admit that Awake does look good.

Awake reminds me of the plot of "Journeyman" which starred the actor who played the lead in HBOs "Rome" and is currently playing a doctor on "Grey's Anatomy."

...give them a little time. They'll pull it off the air for a few weeks... and then move it to another day or time. Its like a death wish. I swear they must have some way of making money from failed shows..... 'cause they work very hard to destroy any possible success that they happen to stumble upon.

Well there's another stupid move for NBC. They should have kept Law and Order. What happened to Prime Suspect? I like The Firm and now they are moving it to another night. Why do they keep bringing in new shows just to cancel them after only a short run? Doesn’t make sense to me.

Because the ratings are low on most of them.

Awake, just what I read and seen, this will be on the chopping block soon, along with the rest of NBC's shows, like smash

...you just have to stop watching (what they call) broadcast TV. Its a whole different set of rules they play by.... and none of them have anything to do with satisfying the viewing public.
