Plenty of research tells us that most elders do want to stay at home. As long as they can provide the means to remain safely there, and they have enough social interactions to suit their needs, staying at home is a perfectly reasonable choice. However, one must consider the costs of making a home safe for a senior, especially when she has trouble getting around.
