Missouri Primary 2012 Regarded As Key By Rick Santorum

Rick Santorum Missouri

Rick Santorum came in last in the Nevada caucuses on Tuesday evening. He brushed off the loss in an interview with Fox News, saying that his campaign didn't focus on and actively campaign in the state.

"I think you'll see very different numbers coming forth on Tuesday, where we've spent a little bit more time and a little bit more money. ... In fact, I'm the person who's best able to win this election," he said.

Santorum was more optimistic about Tuesday, when there will be caucuses in Minnesota and Colorado and a non-binding primary in Missouri. (That state will also hold a caucus on March 17.) The former senator said that Missouri, in particular, was a key state for him because it would show whether he can go head to head with frontrunner Mitt Romney:

On Tuesday, I think we are going to do very well in Missouri. It's going to be interesting because it's a head-to-head between Gov. Romney myself. Speaker Gingrich is not on the ballot. Ron Paul is. We'll wait and see whether the idea that the one conservative who can actually go up against Mitt Romney head to head and win.

Speaker Gingrich had his shot in Florida, by and large. We didn't play in Florida. He had his chance to go head to head and didn't do well. We're going to go head to head in Missouri, and we'll see what happens.

I think we'll also do pretty well in Minnesota and here in Colorado. I am not predicting wins, but I think we'll do well. We'll do certainly better than we did in Nevada.

The liberal biased bigotry on this site is unbelievable.

Can you say Ya Vall mine leader?

You prove every day that you are a propaganda sheet and not a newspaper. Journalism is dead. The free press a thing of the past.

Prove it.

Prove "bigotry"

You can’t be serious, claiming the media is not bigoted and only takes the liberal side of any argument.
Their censorship of any anti-abortion or anti-gay marriage statements are all the proof I need.

But then again, according to most on here the unicorns at the socialist utopia are doing just fine.

It's "ja wohl meine Fuhrer," I think. Comparing a news-aggregating website to National Socialism is pretty far off the mark, though it does bring to mind slogans of said National Socialists...

Thanks, I admit, I did not know how to spell "ja wohl meine Fuhrer" and believe me,

spell check was no help.

It strikes me that Santorum is the candidate from a third party -- the religious party. Unfortunately for him, the country is becoming less religious all the time, and resents his bible thumping.

I hope he goes down hard so we don't have to listen to his moralizing anymore.

Sorry you feel that way. It's not that I'm voting for him, but what's the matter with having morals? There aren't many people in government now a days in either party that have any. I just wish all the campaigners, including Obama, would state just what in the heck their "outline" is for America, domestic and foreign. At least that way they could defend their stances so the American people would understand where they're coming from, and the we can vote accordingly.

Besides his being boring, he wants to legislate his morals. I resent that.

Prove they have not.

The Romney - Santorum ticket .... when the middle and the right all come out to vote and the left is too disillusioned to vote, you'll see a repeat of 2010 this Fall.

We are from Pennsylvania, and can tell you that if Mr. Santorum thinks he will do well in Missouri ... he has done something sneaky, to give himself an edge. Ethics is something he seldom is concerned about ... unless someone is looking. :-)

What did he do that was sneaky?

As I recall, when he ran for reelection in PA in 2006, he got thumped in the general election by Paul Casey, Jr. I guess Rick feels that since he cannot be reelected in PA, he will merely take the presidency.

The media are masters at destroying people. We have learned much from them. It's the end of the road.

I understand that Rick Santorum's Pennsylvania campaign headquarters consists of a P.O. Box. Reminds me of the time when he was living in a McMansion in Virginia and used a teeny tiny Pennsylvania rental property address to charge blue collar Pennsylvania taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars for the homeschooling of his multitude of children in Virginia.

Rick Santorum is nothing more than nuisance. His very conservative views is far from main street America. I wish he would go away. Every time he speaks, he makes me through up. As a republican, I can say we have enough radicals and we need no Santorum.

I would like to know what YOU Think is main street America. . . considering 76% of Americans claim to follow God. I know many would prefer to hide in the dark, but the majority of Americans are still in the LIGHT
06:03 PM on 02/06/2012
Hello Jay,

I thank you for your response. My point of view is that Rick Santorum preach values he never practiced during his service in congress. that is why is no longer a Senator.

I am a republican and Christian too, but I don't want to elect a person based on faith. We have more dangerous issues facing our country. Obama for on, he made us the laughing of the world. We lost respect, we lost power and today, China is running the show.

Unfortunately, we are so weak and lost our respect. Having no influence anywhere in the world. Look at Egypt - they are holding our citizen hostages. Now I can go on and on but the point is, we need candidate who would stand strong to defeat Obama and fight for the American people.

Let the church takes care of the church. Let faith deal with faith. I don't go out and brague about my faith or for this matter, use my little handicap daughter to get sympathy under the claim of" Pro Life"

There is a lot to say about Rick, Perry, and the senile Ron Paul let alone the any Newt!
02:15 PM on 02/07/2012
Nice statistic here is one for you. The 76% would rather vote for Newt, Rick, Or Mitt all flawed irreligious liars instead of the only admitted Christian whose reputation backs up his declaration of Christianity. Same on the Christian zionists you have been used and abused and you do not even know it.....

I think Rick blew any chance the other day, when the lady in the audience confronted him on pharmaceutical medicine prices, because of her seeing dying children in hospitals that cannot afford the meds they need to survive, and Rick laughs it off and tries to throw out the "well corporations have to make a profit" explanation. To be honest, I agree corporations need to make profits. What I question is how much profit do you need? Since when do corporations have to make multi billion dollar profits? Wouldn't tens of millions be enough? Can't they reduce their profit margin so that some of these kids could live? I don't understand why they cannot sell medicines to people in the U.S.A.at the same price they sell medicines to people in Canada. Sorry Rick. No sympathy no vote.
10:59 AM on 02/06/2012
I watched that same thing and thought he was wrong, coarse, and a typically republic answer. He is also on an ego trip, even thinking he is Preidential material. There is a lot more bagage with him then what is being reported.
11:20 AM on 02/06/2012
You would think he would gladly pay as he wants to ban all birth control and eliminate any reproductive choice for women. I never hear the anti-bithh control, pro unlimited population growth folks offer to paty all the free medical and welfare needed to support all these extra people. Here is a perfect example. if Rick is so "pro-life' he would have offered to pay. He like many are 'pro-birth, but once you are forced to have the child they immediately drop you. Hardly pro-life.

It has already been estimated that had we not killed the 55 million babies through abortion that our country would not now be having the trouble we are having with money
