Newt Gingrich Picks New York Giants Over New England Patriots In Super Bowl 2012 After Nevada Caucus

Newt Gingrich Super Bowl 2012 Nevada Caucus

First Posted: 02/ 4/2012 11:55 pm Updated: 02/ 4/2012 11:55 pm

After telling reporters at his post-Nevada caucus press conference on Saturday to "take a few hours off from politics" ahead of the 2012 Super Bowl, Newt Gingrich revealed that he is rooting for "the team that beat the [Green Bay] Packers" -- the New York Giants.

Gingrich's presser capped a busy day in the Silver State, where caucus-goers propelled Mitt Romney to victory by more than ten points. Gingrich and Ron Paul spent the day fighting for second place, hoping to gather momentum and delegates going into a number of upcoming February primary contests.

Gingrich remained aggressive and optimistic on stage, telling reporters that he "will be a candidate for president."

"I am not going to withdraw," Gingrich said. "I'm actually pretty happy where we are." Gingrich also repeated that he planned to continue his campaign until the Republican national convention in Tampa, Florida.

The New York Giants will face the New England Patriots on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EST.

This monster is a joke: first he blasts anyone in NYC who rides the subway and now he's a Giants fan? He can't be human and he must have been abused as a child. What is wrong with this guy?

I guess we'll see if Newt's predictions remain 100% wrong on everything, like when he said Clinton's tax increases would kill the US economy.

I wonder how much SuperPAC money he squandered on lobbyists (aka historians) to give him that prediction?

How many republicans will bet hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the outcome of today's Stupid Bowl, laugh when they lose it, but refuse to lift a finger or donate one penny to feed the hungry, house the homeless, or cloth the naked? Their lord and saviour must be so proud.

Or better yet, they'll squander all that money, then whine about having to pay their taxes.

Lose the religion part. People do what they want with their money. Yes, it would be nice to help the poor with the money but it's not for you to tell them what to do based on your obvious religious beliefs. Helping people is the right thing to do, leave religion out of it.

Well, now...you've jumped to a massive conclusion. MY obvious religious beliefs. Rewind a bit. I made no statement about MY religious beliefs. I AM holding people who call themselves christian accountable for THERE stated beliefs by reminding them of the words of the man they claim as their lord and saviour: Jesus. I'm hoisting them up by their own petard. Lots of convservotrons watching the game today, and probably betting a LOT of $$$$$. Conservotrons CLAIM to be christians, but gleefully go about gutting programs that help the poor, telling poor folks they're on their own. Hypocritical much?

How accurate are his predictions on the GOP primaries going?
