John King Calls Mitt Romney 'Governor Mormon'

The Huffington Post  |  By Posted: 02/05/12 09:44 AM ET  |  Updated: 02/05/12 09:53 AM ET

CNN Host John King had his own 'oops' moment on Saturday night while covering the Nevada caucus.

While breaking down the results of the GOP contest, he referred to Mitt Romney as "Governor Mormon."

Discussing each candidate's religion, King said, "Obviously, Governor Mormon is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints."

Romney dominated the Nevada caucus, partially thanks to an overwhelming amount of support from local Mormons. According to the AP, 25% of Saturday's voters was Mormon and 90% of Mormons voted for Romney. He also won among other Christian groups, like evangelicals and Catholics.

That was so funny... Just a slip of the tounge ...he probably did not even realize it for a minute or two after he said it. To make any more of it than that is silly. But still funny.

At least we know Mitt is Mormon. This week Nobama is Baptist, next week spanish Christian, Muslim on every 3rd Sunday etc etc.

I don't care for King myself, but come on - he was discussing Mormon demographics in Nevada at the time. It's easy to see where the slip came from.

Ah, but would you be so understanding if a Mormon made a similar gaff? From what I've read on here, I think not.

Prejudice!

And here we see yet another religious BIGOT on the left! Of course the entirety of the corrupt, terminally biased liberal media are trampling one another to tell us that it was just a slip, and not something embedded in his mind.

Contrast that with Governor Mormon's, oops Romney's statement concerning the poor, where he actually spelled out in detail, in his ORIGINAL statement what the meant, King and his myriad of apologists purposely used on a small portion of his statement to make it appear he was saying the EXACT OPPOSITE of what he actually said! That friends, is the essence, and cornerston of the warped philosophy called liberalism!

John King's comment merely reveals that he is a bigot-that's all.

Yes, 90% of Mormons vote for Romney-

just as 98% of blacks voted for Obama in 2008.

When Obama capaigns in inner city America-

perhaps King should thus refer to Obama as-

President Afro-American?

Given Mr King's apparent perspective:

such a reference would be perfectly logical.

Dude, about 90% of voting blacks vote dem either way. If Herman Cain had won the Repub nomination, you would see almost exactly the same number of blacks voting Obama, because he is not a conservative.

Probably didn't help that the screen said Morman. John King being used to teleprompters probably didn't think twice about it.

Did I mention that you're a putz? How about a schmuck. I used to be polite. But given the Morons and dupes that populate our once great country, the gloves are off. Go stuff yourself in a privy.

So you're the only one who's allowed to have an opinion? I very much doubt that you were ever polite. Please note that I've not lowered myself to your position in the gutter by calling you childish names.

12:54 PM on 02/06/2012
And how many times did folks complain about that? And suggest it was racism?
01:46 PM on 02/06/2012
I agree, this is a non-story. I am a mormon and I am more amused.

I wouldn't vote for a member of any cult. Study what the mormons believe and you will understand it is a cult, based on hooey. Most religions are, but that one really stands out.
10:31 AM on 02/06/2012
Yea, give me a religion that believes in rational things like immaculate conception, walking on water, turning water into wine and people rising from the dead.

They're all cults, Romney's just happens to be a modern version of "People will believe anything". It is so silly with the Planets and the gold plates in upstate Ny that just disappeared after they were deciphered, the magic underoos.
Yeah, we need this in the White House.............
