Almost everyone currently diagnosed with a mild form of Alzheimer's disease would be downgraded to not having the condition, if new proposed criteria for the diagnosis of cognitive problems were applied, a new study shows.

This topic “New Alzheimer's Criteria Would Change Diagnosis for Millions†is another sleight of hand move to make AD even scarier. It takes the early stage of the disease out of the mix and restricts AD to the latter stages of AD which are far more sensational.

This is but another effort to make it go away. It is also another effort to grease the skids for raising funds for research to find the cure.

The scarier AD can be made to sound the better the take on funds that benefit the fund raisers, the Drug Companies and the other groups suckling the fear of an AD epidemic and fear of becoming one more victim of the disease.

All this maneuvering misses the point. The point is DD exists; it includes AD which includes many more forms of Dementia all of which need attention. AD is not the only one. None of them are getting attention other than the raising of funds to find the cure.

Dementia will quickly be at epidemic
