"I've been here twelve years and feel like I've barely scratched the surface," says Sophie Blackall, a New York-based illustrator who has recently achieved fame through her book, "Missed Connections: Love Lost & Found." In it, Blackall depicts real Craigslist "missed connections" from lovelorn city dwellers searching for a mate.
In one illustration seen in the video above, a couple is drawn wearing curious outfits. The guy is in a furry bear costume and the girl wears the head, complete with a tiny smirk at the corner of its snout. The title: "We shared a bear suit at an apartment party Saturday night." All we're asking is: who wouldn't respond to such an ad?
You can see more examples of missed connections on Blackall's blog here. Also, you can see her poster for the MTA Arts for Transit program on her blog here, and Blackall's "9 Most Hilarious Missed Connection Craigslist Posts" here.
