Spike In Drug Violations At Colorado Schools Leaves Officials Looking For Source

Ed News Colorado:

A handful of students from Denver's East High School recently spent a warm January lunch period huddled against a brick home two blocks from the school, passing a joint and discussing the merits of medical marijuana.

It smells better than what you get on the street, they say, and is more potent. The buds are whole, not ground up like oregano.

remember when the war on drugs started

they came out with a poster of the human body posted in business windows nation wide

and arranged around that body was a list of drugs

to say NO too ! as I set waiting for my tire,s to be put on my car
I said to my husband notice any thing missing from that poster ?
he looked for a bit then said yeah ?

there was no little red flower listed and I remember thinking why Was that ???

This is another part of our national game of pretend when it comes to marijuana.

Was marijuana available in every single school and prison in Colorado in 1999? yes. it was. I grew up in Colorado, and attended both public and private schools all over the state and i can say for a fact marijuana was for sale at all of them.

The only actual difference Medical Marijuana has caused is the marijuana teens are buying now was diverted from a legal regulated market, not straight off the black market. Which means nothing new is happening other than the marijuana in question is now likely lab tested for pesticides and mold.

We have lowered our National Teen drinking and tobacco use stats with simple truthful education campaigns. The same will work for marijuana once we stop lying and start regulating.

Completely the parents fault. I am so "sick" of this "lets get rid of everything kids can get a hold of" mentality. Now instead of just going ahead and making this "plant" just outright legal (that's far less addictive, or dangerous than cigarettes or alcohol), opponents can now scream "but our precious kids can get a hold of it"!!! Guess what......IT DOES NOT TAKE A VILLAGE TO RAISE YOUR KIDS, IT TAKES A FREAKING PARENT!! Everyone has fallen into this misconception, that its "not their fault" their kids are screwed up, its everyone else. I had NOTHING to do with anyone's decision to breed, and I take zero responsibility for YOUR offspring. Take "some" responsibility.....your kid shoots up a school, drinks, does drugs?? Stop blaming the media, music, medical marijuana, and all your other excuses. Stop dropping junior in front of the TV all day, and raise your kid.

You have officers, and DARE and Above The Influence constantly spouting ridiculous lies to these kids in school.

Then the kids inevitably see someone using pot without instantly dying or becoming violent or anything else out of reefer madness, they try pot, and then realize the adults are full of it. They lose any respect they may have had for authority and then ignore warnings about real dangers because their intelligence has been insulted and they have been lied to in the past.

It's not hard to figure out.

DARE has been studied and found to be 0 to -2% effective. Meaning that at best its a huge waste of money that has no effect at all, and at worst sends 2 of every 100 DARE graduates out looking for these cool drugs they just heard about.
