LONDON -- Former Beatle Paul McCartney will star in a musical tribute to Britain's queen to mark her Diamond Jubilee.

The pop superstar will headline the concert to be held in front of Buckingham Palace. The concert will honor the monarch's 60 years on the throne.

Event organizer Gary Barlow – the star of Take That – says the event will transcend multiple decades of music.

Other performers include Elton John, Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Annie Lennox, Cliff Richard, Jessie J, boy band JLS and singer songwriter Ed Sheeran.

Barlow says the Princes William and Prince Harry had both requested artists to perform in front of an audience of more than 10,000, including the queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the royal family.

Ringo and Paul are clearly the tour loving members of the band. They shouldn't stop. Keep it up, it keeps them young at heart. They're holding up well.

before the Beatles all I did was read and ride horses when I could afford it. After the Beatles I started reading world news and taking an interest in a wider range of subjects and talking to people about those subject. The Beatles brought me out of my teenage shell. They opened my eyes to the world.

Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl,
but she doesn't have a lot to say
Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
but she changes from day to day

I want to tell her that I love her a lot
But I gotta get a bellyful of wine
Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
Someday I'm going to make her mine, oh yeh,
someday I'm going to make her mine.

As far as I'm concerned, Paul can do no wrong.

I seriously think the day any one of them totally gives up the love of their life, they roll over and die. Because they've been doing this for so long, how do you retire the music.

When the Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sulivan show in 1964, I was 17 and I fell in love with Paul. He will always be young and cute to me. Crap, I'm old.

I'd rather be older and have experienced the Beatles than be young and have to listen to the garbage that's out there today. Five decades later and The Beatles music lives on. It has spanned several generations and will undoubtedly live on forever. Let's see today's music have that kind of longevity.

They better be careful, any of them could drop at any moment.

Paul loves being part of the establishment. John probably would have said, "hell no!"

He didn't object to their first royal performance, I don't know why he'd object now.

John was always a rebel and he finally was able to be his authentic self in the later years preferring NYC to Britain. Paul was never bashful about wanting to be part of Britain's establishment because his mother wanted that for her family as well. Dif strokes for dif Beatles.

The Beatles were all rebellious in many different ways, but the last little song on their last wonderful album 'Abbey Road' was 'Her Majesty'.

I know...Paul is very fond of the Queen, he had a crush on the Young Elizabeth...he thought she was 'hot'. lol I saw the Beatles in 1964, Paul with Wings in 1976 and with his new band in 2002. My oldest child when he was young spent time time Maureen Cox Starkey Tigrett on many ocassions as well as one Thanksgiving day, which included Ringo's children. ;)
