The few passes that were dropped by the Patriots were bad throws, through and through.

Wow, super tacky, Boston. I'm no football aficionado, but I watched the game, and from where I sat there were a whole lot of things that all of the Pats did wrong. Wes Welker is a helluva player, and everyone has bad nights (as made plain by the game; no one on the Pats played a well that night). But to me, that's irrelevant. It's ok to be upset about a loss, but to scapegoat a kid who's been a beast for years, who is already blaming himself for the loss is disgusting. Those "fans" should be ashamed of themselves.

Brady was a big part of the blame in that loss also. Safety to start the game. 2 points given away and thats all on Brady. Terrible pass to Gronkowski, 10 yards underthrown ... game changing play when the Pats had a chance to seal it. Welkers drop? Brady could have also thrown a much better pass then that, he was wide open and the throw could been made much earlier.

you know in all honesty, there's over a 50% chance the Patriots won't pursue a contract with him, and quite honestly, getting a new start with a new team will probably be the best medicine for him.

He's still the best WR/RB on the team.

I feel bad for him....he is in for a long hard year.

I don't feel sorry for him, he's put the dagger in many times to teams before.Plus he's got enough money to ease the pain. Buy a new porsche.

It was a hard pass, but he usually catches them. But NO receiver catches ALL of them. Sports fans are brutal. However you see this, it wasn't Bill Buckner all over again. A FINE defensive first baseman who will always be remembered for that one error. And people forget, that was the sixth game. Boston went on to lose the seventh too. Welker's pass did not lose the game. The Patriot defense could not stop the Giants after they had done a pretty good job the rest of the game. That's sports.

True no one catches them all, but all the millions you're paid, catch the ONE that counts.

Wow. I'm by no means a Patriot fan and I wanted the Giants to win, but I cannot believe all the gloating and mocking. They're a terrible team because they lost the Super Bowl by 4 points? What's that make the other 30 teams that watched the game on TV, like I did? Year after year, they're in the playoffs. The last year they missed the playoffs they went 11-5 with a backup quarterback! There are 30 other teams I would like to see win the Super Bowl ahead of the Patriots, but you can't take away the fact they are a great team.

Why Don't We Do It In The Road?

The Pats don't get to the SB this year unless Welker has the season he had! That is undeniable. The pass in question certainly could have been better, MUCH better! Welker made his share of highlight reels this season, as he has his whole career. He is as sure handed as any who play, or have ever played. If you want to assign real blame, put it on the Pats coaches who let Rob Gronkowski play in the first place. Gronk is NOT a player who is so good that his presence at 50% of his agility and ability will have much of a difference. Both he and Brady (for a really bad decision) were exposed on the long ball where a LINEBACKER intercepted it (I've never seen a player with that high of a number intercept a ball that far downfield before, EVER!).

The Pats should have stuck with their healthy TEs, if nothing else to take some pressure off Welker, who became a big part of the focus of the Gs' defensive coverage. Welker didn't lose this game for them, it was indeed a team loss, and that includes the coaching. Perhaps a better question to start asking is: has Billicheck become over rated? Has HE lost it as far as what it takes to get his team to perform at championship level, IN the championship? I'll take Welker on my team anytime!

Yes the Pats Lost. Yes to NY Again!! It's frustrating for them. They were very Fortunate along the Way considering they had the WORST Defense in History. They got to a Superbowl for the 5th time in the last 10 years and won 3 of them. They have young Players who will improve and a great Work ethic. They will be back again. You cannot give up a 30 yard pass that allows the other Team to get to Midfield when you only have a 2 point Lead in the final minutes. Defense needs more Improvement becuase the Offense cannot always score 30 point plus every Game!!!

You do realize that at one point, Brady had completed 16 passes in a row. If he was awful, I would hate to see what his great game would be.

Anyone who says that pass was entirely catchable probably never played much football. Wes has proven himself to be one of the best in the game and deserves better from these fair-weather fanatics. This Pats team gave the Giants even more of a fight than in 2008, when NE had future HOFers at practically every position. NE fans need to take a chill pill since their team literally lost by a matter of inches.
Again congrats Big Blue and GO GIANTS!

Brady could have thrown it slightly ahead of Welker. The excuse now is that it would have been otherwise intercepted but even an average quarterback should have been able to put that ball right in Welker's hands, not where he had to spin completely around.

The pass was very, very catchable. Not an "easy" catch, but very, very catchable. I'm sure Wes would tell you he comes up with that ball 99% of the time. This just happened to be that 1 time, and it was during the 4th quarter crunch time of the Super Bowl. Truth is, the Pats aren't in the Super Bowl if not for Welker's brilliance. But I'm sure that's little consolation for him. I indeed have played alot of football. I know I'd personally be devestated if I dropped that pass.

Anyway, I'm glad he dropped it. Not a Pats fan. Can't be. I root for the putrid Dolphins. So I was rooting for the Giants. And I believe that if he had caught that pass, the Pats probably seal the game.

That pass was behind him and not in front of him. It would be a difficult but catchable pass. I'm glad the Giants won because NE fans showed that they did not deserve to win the Super Bowl. If the Giants loss they would have said damn that was a good game and be sad but happy that their team got that far. I wonder what kind of attitude NE and the town of Boston would have if they had won...HA HA in your face mentality? Didn't the Pats win Super Bowls not long ago? How quickly they forget the WHOLE season and trash WES for this drop catch. What sore losers! I bet they would throw grandma under the train!
