Iryana Vaughn Found: 2-Year-Old Wisconsin Girl Found In Chicago After Mother's Murder (VIDEO)

A 2-year-old Wisconsin girl who was reported missing after her mother was found dead in their Racine home was found safe in Chicago with her father, who is now facing homicide charges in the woman's death.

An Amber Alert was issued for Iryana Vaughn early Wednesday morning, who police believed had been removed from the home by her father, Iryin Vaughn, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. The alert issued included the license plate to Vaughn's vehicle, and was canceled around 5 a.m. once the car, Vaughn and Iryana were found near Bradley Park.

Racine police responding to a call reporting an assault found a 27-year-old dead at the Vaughn home, Fox Chicago reports. Iryin Vaughn is wanted for questioning in connection with the homicide, but it is unclear whether he will be processed into central booking in Chicago or extradited to Wisconsin.

Police declined to comment on whether the 25-year-old man is a suspect. Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Tim Tyler told CBS Chicago that for now, Vaughn is "just wanted for questioning regarding the homicide of the child's mother," but noted that the investigation is ongoing, according to the news station.

Iryana Vaughn was taken to Comer Children's Hospital as a precaution, but is reportedly unharmed.

How wonderful that they found her alive! I wish they could have done the same for her mother. I hope they find the killer soon so that Iryana can move on and begin a new life with people who love her.

In the first paragraph:

In the fourth paragraph:

WOW, in the course of the article he went from being charged with homicide to possibly not even being a suspect...

FYI I'm tutoring a friend for his writing class and I'm going to use article this as an example of how not to write his upcoming essay..

It's disgusting how people think they are doing the right thing for their child when in reality it's just them being selfish. How is it better that this little grow up without either parent than him not having custody? Ridiculous.

We can judge, point fingers, shake our sad heads in grief... but I would simply like to remind everyone of a simple saying...
'It takes a village to raise a child'.... we need to understand there were probably tons of signs this family was in trouble... signs that went unnoticed, or ingnored. Turn on your porch lights, pay attention to the sounds on your street... Wave to the people that live around you, make a point to be aware... and if you hear something, or see something that doesn't feel right, call it in, and dont wait. How many people are going to say, "Oh I'm not surprised at all. They were always arguing over that poor child, and it was just a matter of time."
I believe that many of these crimes could be prevented with just a little involvment from the people around them at the time.

The only good thing to this story is that at least she is safe and the fathr didn't kill his own child like Powell did to his boys.
