Stacy London: I Hated Gwyneth Paltrow's Pink Oscar Gown (PHOTO, POLL)

Stacy London, the straight-shooting host of TLC's "What Not To Wear," never minces words, and in advance of this month's annual Academy Awards, London decided to take some iconic Oscars dresses to task.

Namely, Gwyneth's famous pink gown from 1999.

"I hated Gwyneth Paltrow in that stupid pink Ralph Lauren [dress,]" she recently told Us Weekly. Yikes!

Gwyneth's princess-like Ralph Lauren gown, which was very reminiscent of "Shakespeare in Love," the movie she was nominated for, was always controversial: it made a bunch of best-dressed lists, although there was contemporary talk of the dress being ill-fitting and overly quixotic.

Now that we know what Stacy, who has a new show of her own, thinks, will we be seeing Gwyneth on a special episode of "What Not To Wear"? We'd watch that.

Iv'e always hated that dress and could not see why there was so much buzz about it. My greatest beef was that the dress was ill-fitting. If I bought a dress that I loved and it fitted that badly I would have taken it to my tailor. It was, and is still horrible.

THANK YOU, STACY! And all the others who voted against it too. The dress looked ridiculous on silly little Gwynnie, with her bony arms and no breasts and pale skin and that awful, awful, slicked down hairstyle. She looked like a 5-year old who had gotten into Mommy's closet; the bodice didn't fit at all. And the color just washed her out; the dark red lipstick was a big mistake too. Terrible.

Totally the wrong dress for her...plus it didn't fit. Far too much fabric for such a frame and silk taffeta (pale pink at that) was such a wrong choice. FAIL all the way around. The hair was awful and the whole thing just made her disappear. Gwyneth...I'm retired...but call me ...I'll hook you up.

Yes, the top is very poorly fitted and her breasts need a good lift. If that were corrected, and one wonders how she could have gone out in public looking like that, the dress would look entirely different.

I agree. She has had breast implants since then, and this dress probably would have looked much better if she had worn it post-operation.

How can she wear a padded bra with that dress. The bodice of the dress was poorly made and ill fitted. It should have had some kind of build in support to lift her breasts.
