'The X Factor' Shake-Up: Nicole Scherzinger, Fox Break Silence

Nicole Scherzinger The X Factor

Posted: 02/ 8/2012 11:38 am

Nicole Scherzinger is opening up about the big 2012 shake-up at The X Factor that saw her, Paula Abdul and host Steve Jones axed from the Fox singing competition series.

Scherzinger told "Access Hollywood" that she was completely committed to the show.
"Well, all I know is that I gave 110 percent to that show," she said. "I know everybody's talking about it. They're saying good, bad, they love me or hate me, but the one thing you can't say is that I didn't give it my all."

Scherzinger and Abdul served on the judges panel alongside Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid. Scherzinger was originally tapped to co-host the series alongside Jones, but when British singer Cheryl Cole was abruptly fired as a judge, Scherzinger took her place at the table.

"I loved being a part of my ‘X Factor’ family," Scherzinger said. "Nothing could obviously prepare me for everything I had to go through, all the emotions and stuff, but I have no regrets."

Mike Darnell, Fox's president of alternative entertainment, told EW that the first season of "The X Factor" was an "audition act." With Abdul, Scherzinger and Jones out, that leaves Reid and Cowell the last men standing, but on-air talent won't be the only changes.

"There definitely will be lots of different changes in the show," Darnell said.

So far, no official replacements have been named, but that didn't stop HuffPost TV from naming a few people we think would do well on the show.

Here's a novel idea. Why not a regular,as in non celebrity, person that loves and knows music?

Lance Bass would be a horrible host, out of the NSYNC guys the only decent host would probably be Joey Fatone as he seems very laid back and easy to get long with, and has had hosting experience before.

I watched till the end last year only because I started to watch and then wanted to find out who won, I did fast-forward through most of the crap, only listened to the singing. I will not be watching this year, the show stinks, the format is strange and there were no honest reviews of the singing, it was all you're wonderful, etc. I thought it very strange that the judges would tell some people they needed to sing different kinds of songs, then never say that to the snot-nosed kid who only sang rap.
At least the very talented singer won.

I do NOT want to see Lance Bass host the show. That man irritates me on a multitude of levels. He is a desperate man who will do anything to stay in the media. Recently, he posted a extremely stupid made up boy band on You tube that had over 30,000 dislikes.

I think Nicole is pretty and a good singer, but as far as giving her all to the show? I have to disagree. In the one instance, last season, she was supposed to vote and decided to shirk her duty and let the outcome be decided by the public vote, which was not even based on that performance. The contestant (I forget who it was) ended up going home as a result. So, in that case, she gave 0% to the competition. She was supposed to decide, and she abdicated her responsibility. Not what we should expect from a judge.

Please no more judges who think they own the singing world i.e. Mariah, Lady Bla Bla, Beyonce.
Let's get some people who live in our world, know what its like to struggle to become a working person/singing artist. Elton John? are u kidding me...the man doesn't speak without profanity!!!

Mike Rowe for Host would be freaken awesome. Now here is a man with a great sense of humour, can think on his feet, is great with people and easy on the eyes. He could be the IT man to bring X Factor back into factoring.

I think he'd probably zing Cowell a few too many times and be gone, if he could even stand to be on there.
However I can't understand why he isn't named as sexiest man of the year! At least in the top 50.

Amen to that. I have a couple of "dirty Jobs" for Mike Rowe...come and eat crackers in my bed!!1

I do not watch these singing shows...to me, there are too many and it has become a little old, but I am just one person...I know many people love these shows...I would hire Jimmy Fallon to be the host...and then bring in Madonna as a judge...she did the Marriage Ref...I think she will do this...she needs something to do now...worth a shot and she would offer a lot to the show...
