WATCH: Secretary Of Education's Twitter Town Hall On Hispanic Education

Secretary of Education Arne Duncan hosted a Twitter Town Hall on what she termed Hispanic Excellence. Twitter users asked questions in advance and during the forum using the hashtag #HispanicEd to discuss Hispanic education.

The Twitter Town Hall was a direct response to President Obama's State of the Union Address, which touched on critical topics such as college loan debt, high school drop out rates, job training and college affordability.

José Rico, executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics joined Duncan during the virtual town hall, which was conducted in English and Spanish. Rico's main responsibility is to help implement President's Obama's efforts to improve academic achievement in the Latino community.

The town hall was moderated by Elianne Ramos and Cheryl Aguilar from LATISM, a nonprofit social media outlet aimed at advancing the social, economic and educational status of the Latino community and the largest organization of Social Media Professionals of Hispanic Origin.
