Earl Sweatshirt Returns

After two years off the radar and a misguided "Free Earl" campaign, 17-year-old Earl Sweatshirt is back. The former (and possibly current?) Odd Future member released a mock ransom video Wednesday, with a drawing of a mouth sewn shut and himself demanding, "If you want the whole thing, give me 50,000 [image of his Twitter handle flashes] by today... and if you don't want the whole thing? Then it's not that big of a deal." Alongside a tweet he sent out -- "nigga need followers. give me 50,000 and i'll release this shit for everybody" -- the point couldn't have been clearer. Today, Sweatshirt is sitting pretty with more than 78,000 followers, and we've got a song called "Home." Everybody wins?

Your all so dumb, thats an old clip of him and that song is from like 4 years ago, just was unreleased. He cut out the word dollars and put up his twitter so it looked like followers. Then hodgy tweeted he wasnt home. Plus the james pants beat he spit on, not produced by tyler... RESEARCH PEOPLE RESEARCH.

a sad story of tumblr fame, misguided youth and broken friendships. if we aren't being trolled by tyler and the gang then yesterday Odd Future died.

The part that sucks is Earl is Free. Thebe (his real name) is not.
Sure we have everyones favorite rapper back. But he has not returned to OF he returned home to his mom, who sent him to Samoa in the first place because she didnt like the OF crew. And some how the brainwashing at that bootcamp worked. He knows his hot right now, and doesnt want anything to do with OF. Tyler doesnt have his best friend back mentally, only in the physical form. And from the looks of it, Earl might be joining another group as shouting out to Nipsey Hussle in a recent tweet.

I was happy to hear he's back, making music, and sounding the same as before. But to me, Earl isnt the same without Odd Future... Let's hope it changes soon.

Good for you IamObie for having an opinion here on the ol' Huffington Post. It's kinda funny how something that is such huge news for so many (granted, mostly youngsters) is greeted with a thundering "huh?" on many of the most-viewed of media outlets
