Erica Dasher On Andie MacDowell And Her First New York Fashion Week

It’s hard to outshine actress Andie MacDowell, but newcomer Erica Dasher holds her own in their new ABC Family show, “Jane by Design.” The Houston native plays Jane Quimby, a high school student who moonlights as an assistant to MacDowell’s character, fashion executive Gray Chandler Murray. But Murray doesn’t realize that Quimby is too young to work, so naturally white lies and humor ensue. We recently caught up with the rising starlet about the show, working with MacDowell and her New York Fashion Week debut.

“Andie Macdowell is stunning, gracious, strong and has the best laugh in the world,” said Dasher. “It’s absolutely infectious. It might not be appropriate to share some of our funny stories, but the woman certainly knows how to tell a joke. The set is incredibly energetic. There is a large element of comedy to the show, so everyone really has to stay on their toes.”

While Dasher works in the fashion industry on the show, she’s also making the rounds at New York Fashion Week for the first time this season.

“I’m so excited to see Betsey Johnson and Nanette Lepore,” said Dasher. “They both did cameos on ‘Jane’ and I’m wearing pieces from both of their collections in our ads for the show. I’m also super excited for Timo Weiland, Jill Stuart and Erin Fetherston. This whole experience is outrageous. I’m so grateful and just doing my best to soak it up.”
