Prince Charles & Camilla Dons Leis In London (PHOTOS)

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, paid a surprise visit on Thursday to Tottenham, the district of London where last summer's violent riots took place, to meet with victims.

Although they were there to commemorate a solemn occasion, Camilla and Charles made sure to brighten the mood by offering emotional -- and financial -- support to the victims, as well as slipping into some funny accessories of their own.

With the Duchess clad in a beautiful aqua coat, the couple visited several businesses and landmarks that were affected by the riots, including Bruce Grove Post Office, which recently reopened after being burned down in the riot-related blazes.

Amidst the solemnity, the couple shared a light-hearted moment when a postmaster slipped red and yellow garlands from a Valentine's display around their necks.

Prince Charles got into the spirit too, wearing his lei in style, although we'd also love to see him tote around that giant stuffed Valentine's Day bear that's in the background.

The royal couple have been involved with charitable relief for the riot aftermath; they first visited the sites back in August, and Charles' charity, The Prince's Trust, has invested 2.5 million pounds into rehabilitation of the Tottenham area.

agreed. honestly, i am happy for the two of them that they finally get their heart's desire. it is just unfortunate the pain others had to endure along the way. i have an older relative who was denied marrying the man she loved. they both ended up with other people, and destroyed both marriages to be together in the end. imagine all the hurt that could have been avoided.

It's the rules of succession that cause the problem. AND people who want it all. In order to have it all it required hurting other people. Nobody can usually have it all. Sorry, I believe that if Camilla was that important to him....abdicate. He should not have used Diana to produce heirs for him as an incubator. Marry Camilla if he wanted to after she divorced, and pass the throne to his brother. Do NOT use/hurt others for your own purposes/selfishness. I wouldn't want a king like that anyway of my country. One OR the other Charles, and give credit where it is due and earned.

Do you just follow British royals, or others as well?

I think he's a lot happier in his old age then he was in years back. For one thing, he should have married Camilla to begin with. I think the Queen is more relaxed too than she's ever been.

Charles has mellowed and Camilla makes him happy and content. His life is full.
