Romney Glitter Bomb: Peter Smith, CU Denver Student, Tries To Glitter Bomb Romney, Gets Arrested

DENVER — The college student accused of "glitter bombing" Mitt Romney after the Colorado caucuses has been fired from his unpaid internship with state Senate Democrats.

Police say 20-year-old Peter Smith threw glitter at Romney as the Republican presidential hopeful greeted supporters in Denver on Tuesday. Smith faces charges of causing a disturbance, throwing a missile and unlawful acts.

Colorado Senate majority chief of staff John Cevette says Smith was terminated Thursday. He was interning as part of a course at the University of Colorado Denver.

Some activists have used "glitter bombing" to protest politicians' opposition to same-sex marriage. Smith has said glittering Romney was worth it, but he worries he could be expelled from school.

A conservative-leaning blog, Colorado Peak Politics, first reported that Smith worked for Senate Democrats and had been fired.

So GOP candidatas for Pres are expected/deserver respect from all people.

But our US sitting President can be called all sorts of names - even during the state of the union - and not a peep. Fox only calls him Obama but grifter 1/2 term quitter Pailin gets Govenor and ethics fraud and liar former speaker Newt gets the title of Mr. on Fox every mention.

And I don't even want to bring up our First Lady. In Mitt's relition they believe that God has a wife but no one mentions her because God does not want her mocked or insulted.

You can call Romney anything you want. You just are not allowed to throw things at him, or rush at him, or threaten him in any way.

[Here's a real life example: I was in a redneck bar not all that long ago and some drunken clown was saying how he was going to kill the N________ President. It wasn't that much later that a couple of Secret Service agents came to have a chat with him. When he was invited to say that garbage the next time in that same bar, he mumbled that he really wasn't going to talk about that anymore.]

I'm hoping that this brainless, little college kid, by the time his punishments are all over for him, will have learned better what not to do, just like the redneck did.

But he can call Mitt Romney anything he chooses.

Serious charges for throwing glitter at a candidate? I can understand that "it can be anything" part and the security or secret service stopping him, but once they realize it is glitter and the circumstance, to fire him, prosecute him under federal offense, is in my opinion, an overkill.
What next, people are going to support a kid being shot dead for glitter bombing a candidate for expressing his opinion in one of the most non-violent ways?
I think again, commonsense and fairness should rule over extreme views and paranoia, in my opinion. Wonder if anyone gets this seriously charged for glitter bombing a regular ordinary person. And we talk about a society with equal rights here in the west amongst all people of the world? Please think about this.

First, these are merely midemeanor charges.

Second, it was not a real job. No one in the Democratic Party ever paid this arrogant College Infant a dime. They are not that stupid. This pathetic College Child clearly does not have even the remotest idea that "Politics is the Art of the Possible". It is not the Art of the "I am a Self-Appointed, Egoistic Little College Brat Who Thinks That the Law Does Not Apply To Him Because Mommy and Daddy Told Him So."

Third, common sense is that the law of the land shall be obeyed, unless there is some extremely profound overriding reason why it should not be obeyed. Only a fool would think that glitter is a profound reason.

Fourth, I agree with Barney Frank's "Radical Homosexual Agenda". Homosexuals ought to have the right to: 1. Be free from violence (or at least punish the perpetrators). 2. Work at a job, without reference to sexual orientation. 3. Marry. and 4. Fight for their Country, if they wish. You may note that Congressman Frank said nothing about throwing glitter at anyone, much less making threatening moves against a Candidate for Public Office. Why do you think that is? Think hard now. It will come to you if you really think.

Fifth, this brainless petty criminal, Peter Lucas Smith, is clearly not fit for Political Science or Politics. He should drop out of College. Cleaning toilets is about as high as his pathetic intellect should take him.

If you think that glitter bombing a bona fide candidate for President of the United States is OK, consider this. What do you think would happen if you threw glitter on a lowly beat cop (IMO an important person) ? Do you really think that the candidate has less legal status than the cop? And who are you anyway? Well, I don't know about the "hilarious" part...but I do think it just a matter of time before one of these "glitter bombers" or "pie throwers" are dealt a serious hand in the midst of their assault.

Of course there will be lots of gnashing of teeth and cries of, what do they always say about Israel when she defends herself....oh yeah "unreasonable force" or something stupid like that.

A clue to any outraged types out there that want to make a statement: If you assault somebody, they or their security just might over react and bust your jaw or even kill you. But hey, it's up to you. Throwing glitter at a famous person that disagrees with you is really a brilliant way to help your cause.

Oh, and btw, definately not a good idea to glitter or pie that meanie Ann Coulter. She quite often travels with a securtiy guy who packs heat and has quite the itchy finger.

Sounds kind of rediculous to me, "arrest him, he has glitter," Was it in a dangerous party popper? I don't like Mitt and I don't like BO. If that's the best we get this year, our country is finished and down the tubes. I had hope that one good person to vote for would be on the ballot, but guess I'll have to wait and see. You never know what will happen when you assault somebody. And, yes, throwing ANYTHING at somebody is an assault. Just matter of time before one of these dumbards gets a very strong reaction. Then the squealing will be deafening.
