Rose McGowan, Christie Brinkley & Minka Kelly Trip On Red Dress Collection Runway (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

Stumbling on the runway may be embarrassing, not to mention painful. But models and celebrities can rest assured that it happens to the best of them (literally -- even Lindsey Wixson and Carrie Bradshaw).

On Thursday night, Rose McGowan, Christie Brinkley and Minka Kelly became New York Fashion Week's first victims. Walking in flowing gowns for The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection Fashion Show, the celebs got gussied up and hit the runway in designer looks: Christie in Pamella Rolland, Rose in Roberto Cavalli and Minka in Diane von Furstenberg.

The three, like the rest of the evening's "models," stepped out with big smiles and tons of energy. Christie strode out to the sound of ex-husband Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" and promptly tripped, pitching forward but catching herself quickly. She kept walking with a smile -- she is a pro, after all. (Although backstage she told Women's Wear Daily, "I almost fell flat on my face!")

Same thing with Rose, whose skirt got her legs caught up. She confidently untangled herself, kicked her legs up for dramatic effect and proceeded to walk down the runway with lots of arm-waving and lip-pouting.

Luckily Minka Kelly was nearly flawless, taking only a step or two extra to avoid getting her feet wrapped up in her long, glittering hem.

The rest of the women -- including Aisha Tyler, Gloria Estefan, Chaka Khan, Patti Stanger, Rebecca Romijn, Cindi Leive and Debbie Phelps, Michael's mother (who stopped to give her son a kiss from the runway) -- all did fine, smiling up and down the white catwalk.

They were more gleeful than your average models, but it was hard not to be: the annual show, put on by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, is part of The Heart Truth campaign, which uses the red dress as the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness.

See a clip of Rose McGowan from the show as well as photos from all three stars' runway turns below (and see a video of the entire show here).

Minka Kelly's dress should have been worn by an older woman.

How lovely and charitable these women are and how petty and shameful Huffington is to make that your headline. You all must feel so proud of yourselves for exhibitng all that kindness and good will...

Can't believe the negative comments--these women are doing something for charity, and clearly from the video, the excessive lengths of the dresses contributed to the slip ups. Christie looks fabulous--I'm her age and I wish I looked half that good.

You probably can too if you had the plastic surgery she had. I have to admit though it doesn't look as unnatural as some of the others I've seen.

Rose McGowan looks freakier everyday. She looked so much better before the plastic surgery.

I remember what she looked like. It doesn't even look like her... it's someone else.

The surgery was to fix injuries to her face which she suffered in a car accident.

It must be all that botox Christie Brinkley has taken that has affected her vision.

The difference between being a "Star" and a peon. "Stars" get top billing when they DON'T fall down.

Christie looks phenomonal. I always thought she was very pretty. The only critique I have for women of this age is hair length. Her hair is too long for her age.

Christie looks terrific!

I hope you live to be over 50 then talk to everyone then on how you're sitting in a corner with crutches and a walker. What an idiotic statement. It is my wish to look half as good as these older women when I'm their age.

or not.... I'll bet you'll look far better.

What an asinine statement. Life doesn't stop after you hit 50 and one day you'll more than likely get there yourself. I'd love to be around to see just how great you look and act yourself. I'm constantly amazed at just how many jackasses there are in this world who don't have a clue about life.

It is obvious from the way you write a sentence, that you still haven't finished sixth grade.

Christie has good genes, she never ages. She is as lovely as when she was first modelling. I do not believe she has had any plastic surgery. I have always liked her.

I'm so happy neither took a serious tumble. Those heels and layers of dress can be hazardous!
I would be exactly like Jenna Elfman and practice over and over. You watch so many entertainers wearing 4-5 inch heels and think, will they snap their ankles while their dancing??
