Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo Football Snap: Celtics Pay Tribute To Patriots (VIDEO)

First Posted: 02/10/2012 7:56 am Updated: 02/10/2012 8:04 am

This is one way to pay tribute to the Super Bowl runner up New England Patriots. After winning the opening tip against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, Kevin Garnett took the ball, bent over and long-snapped it 30 feet back to Rajon Rondo. Rondo then bent over and snapped the ball to himself before bringing the ball up the court to initiate Boston's halfcourt offense.

Unfortunately, like the Patriots, the Celtics went on to lose in the late stages of the game. Although the Celtics did manage to play into overtime, Pau Gasol blocked Ray Allen's potential game-winning shot in the final seconds of the extra session. Still, it's always nice to see teams recognize the success of the other sports teams in the city.

That was the Celtics show with Class their support to the PATS how they'll back them with what they do...

It doesn't matter whether the Celts won or lost. It was their way of telling the Pats that, even though they lost, they're still their team and they love 'em regardless. Boston is one of the best sports cities I've seen for players from different sports supporting each other. I thought it was cool.

I really wish the game winner was a posterizing dunk on Garnet and Rondo by Steve Blake other than that I wish it was possible for both teams to lose because they both suck. Free Ray Allen.
