Nicolas Cage Addresses Rumors He's A Vampire On 'Late Show With David Letterman' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 02/10/2012 3:45 am Updated: 02/10/2012 8:59 am

Nicolas Cage was put side by side with the Civil War era picture that's been sweeping the Internet in conjunction with a theory that he is in fact a vampire on "Late Show" (Weeknights, 11:35 p.m. EST on CBS). David Letterman presented the picture to him and while Cage acknowledged a resemblance, he didn't see a flattering one.

"How can I be polite about this," he said of the man in the picture. "It's a somewhat slowed down version of me."

Furthermore, he posited that the very existence of the picture would seem to denounce the vampire theory. After all, it's common knowledge that vampires' pictures can't be taken. "I don't drink blood and last time I looked in the mirror, I had a reflection, so I'm not going with the vampire theory," he concluded.

But there are two ways to interpret what's happening here. Perhaps the myths about vampire reflections and being able to take pictures of vampires are just that. Nicolas Cage could be a vampire following "rules" that humanity simply doesn't know yet. Or a far simpler explanation could be that he's just immortal. Meaning fans can look forward to more Nicolas Cage movies for the rest of their lives, as he'll outlive them all.

Catch "Late Show with David Letterman" weeknights at 11:35 p.m. EST on CBS.

As for the fellow from the 19th century "a somewhat slowed down version of me" It's likely because he had to sit perfectly still for minutes to have his picture taken. How long can you convey an animated look?

Maybe that was Cage's last lifetime, or an old relative, or Cage is a time traveler. The resemblence is uncanny.
03:18 PM on 02/17/2012
I agree on the resemblence.
02:55 AM on 02/13/2012
Cage would be much more interesting if, in fact, he were a vampire. What a bore.
02:21 AM on 02/13/2012
He indeed is a vampire - one sucking all the fun and sense out of the movies he plays is!
12:28 AM on 02/13/2012
Wow. That picture is so eery!! The resemblance to Nick Cage is crazy!!!!!
03:19 PM on 02/17/2012
I know. But vampires don't age and Cage does look older then he did ten years ago...

You never know.

Im still waiting for Nacy Pelosi and Larry King to make their debut on "Walking Dead"

Obviously Nic Cage is a reincarnation of the guy in the photo. Vampire-that is just silly.
03:20 PM on 02/17/2012
And being reincarnated to look like your same ol' self in a new life isn't silly?
04:16 PM on 02/17/2012
Nah-there was a guy who found he looked like a Civil War Officer, and he had an unexplained mark where the office was shot. Interesting, but I do believe we are recycled.

Well you can suck my blood anytime Nick, or whatever your real name is ;)

"A vampire's picture can't be taken".

punching a hole into the otherwise completely consistent theory of vampires :o).

I like his reaction though. He mocks the moronic idea and that actually is even more of a reaction than such drivel deserves.

Sure it isn't Martin Sheen or Charlie Sheen after a bad night????????????????
06:10 PM on 02/12/2012
Oh please! How ignorant can the media get? Too many T.V. shows about "vampires" and some are gullible enough to believe they exist?
06:53 PM on 02/12/2012
You are saying " Too many T.V. shows about "vampires" and some are gullible enough to believe they exist?" Excuse me. but what about the paperwork you have to fill out by April 15th. You don't beleive in vampires? what about the Infernal Revenue Service?

After all, it's common knowledge that vampires' pictures can't be taken.

It is? Common knowledge implying that everyone believes it to be true, maybe it should be, After all, isnt it believed that vampires' pictures can't be taken
