Mexico Mob Kills 3 Suspected Kidnappers

TOLUCA, Mexico -- Authorities say a mob in central Mexico has beaten three suspected kidnappers to death.

Mexico State prosecutor Alfredo Castillo says the mob also set two of the men on fire during the Friday night attack.

Castillo said Saturday that 23 people in the village of San Mateo Hitzilzingo have been detained.

He says about 300 angry people took the three men out of the town's police station and began beating them after a woman screamed that they were kidnappers.

Local media reported that the men had tried to kidnap a teenage boy but Castillo wouldn't confirm that.

He said authorities are trying to determine why police kept the men at the police station instead of turning them over to state investigators.

Wow! Just because a person is a suspect, does not mean they are guilty! Why is it so easy for people to just be told something and they believe every word that was told to them? People lie, make mistakes, or assume. How can it not be analyzed and proven when determining whether to attack and kill someone?
People on death row have been exonerated! DNA test reveal that the suspected person did not commit the crime that they were convicted of committing.
For this reason, why assume when a person accuses someone it’s a fact and KILL them? Isn’t this what happens with gossip? A person says someone did or said something they didn’t and all kinds of hate and anger are the behavior characteristics of the people caught up in the gossip; Anger enough to KILL.
US, ADULTS are teaching this behavior to our children and then ask why the kids are out of control today? Again I say wow!

The people that beat those men to death weren't vigilantes. The Mexican government is so crumbled that those people are the so called justice system down there. But it's really not justice for anyone if those men were innocent. I blame the Mexican government. This is an everyday thing down there.

Vigilantism is not a good idea...What if they were mistaken? However, it is understandable and predictable in light of the atrocious state of law enforcement in that country and the endemic corruption. Any people, if they reach the point where they believe the state is no longer capable of, or willing to, act to protect their lives and property, will resort to mob justice.

ameicans have seen mob mentality a few times like detroit, rodney king, even the revolution war was the colonists uprising. it isn't so much as a fair trial thing as the minds of mob members feeding each other. even law enforcement folks sometime kick someone half to death. it spirals out of controlof any one person. i don't like it or support it but, i understand it.

Don't if these specific guys were guilty or not, but the average folks on the street rising up against the cartels is probably the only way they are going to rid themselves of that problem.
