My favorite song of Whitney's is "One Moment In Time". I remember when she sang it to Sammy Davis Jr. I was awestruck.

I was blessed to meet Whitney Houston in Chicago at a Jeffrey Osbourn concert. We went back stage and met her. She was beautiful and lovely to us thanking us for coming back stage. I was blown away by her voice. I will miss her terribly, there is not a song that has not touched me.
The saddness I feel cannot be explained. I wanted to look like her. Her aura was spiritual.
Whitney I know you can see and hear us, how much we love you.

We might never know what killed her, but one thing is clear, everyone especially kids need to know drugs (illegal or not) are your worse enemy!!! Don't touch if you are exposed to them, seek help if you know you're addicted to them, help out if you know an addict!!! The voice of Withney at her best is still unmatched but drugs destroyed it, her voice was a gift to the world, it was like her soul speaking directly to your soul. You heard her heart.... Sad. RIP Withney!!!

We don't know what she died from. It could have been natural causes.

Iam so sorry she died, her voice was God given and she wasted it. Hope her daughter understands that drugs kill and dont start.

When a diva dies, the world takes notice. By most accounts, however, Whitney Houston did not mistreat people like some typical divas do. During the making of her rich and powerful vocal legacy, which includes my personal favorite, “The Greatest Love of All,” she is reported to have been “kind and down-to-earth.”

Unfortunately, the world began tragically losing Whitney Houston when her life veered off course, nearly unnoticed by some and ridiculed by others. Praising and criticizing in the same breath, the world says, “Live without regard to rules because you are who you are, but don’t get caught.” Isn’t getting caught the gamble of risky living?

When caught, we make excuses, blaming others for our mistakes and the mistakes of those we venerate. Although life can throw us surprises, at the end we are each responsible for our choices. Yes, we do have more control over our lives than most of us are willing to admit. By accepting control, we assume responsibility for our choices and how our choices affect what ultimately happens to us.

No one could save Whitney Houston from her collision with her own distorted realities, which destroyed her unrealized return to the stellar vocal purity of her legacy. As for those of you who wish to judge Whitney Houston, “What legacy will you leave?” http://sunnynash.blogspot.com/2011/05/rosa-parks-race-relations-in-early.html

There are few artists I can say I like all of their songs but Whitney is one.

Two of my favs that I have not seen mentioned often are Nobody loves me like you do and If you say my eyes are beautiful (a duet with Jermaine Jackson)

I literally grew up with Whitney Houston singing in the background.

While there are many greats, there is only 1 best.

Whitney was the one best. A voice as powerful as a symphony orchestra and as sweet as an angel singing.

Fly Whitney Fly.

One lasting memory is Whitney singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl. She took a song sang at every sporting event, and made it stunning, and memorable. MH

My Homage to Whitney:

To The Voice

She cannot break
his heart, the hammer that broke
hers and dependency grew
as hell’s fire in her soul.
Life cannot apace a heart
full of uncertainness. Love
is not addiction, is an open hug
giving the clean whish of happiness.
She never felt that arm around
her waist, but greediness’ fist
pushing her toward the dark
end of her dreams. The Voice raising
toward heaven was not heard, she was
the child no one accept. Her name
is gold in other people’s hands.
Hypocrisy cannot hold her no more.
Bye-bye miss Whitney. God will
dance with you, because He loves you.

Although she looked way too thin at the time, her performance of Wanna be Starting Something at the a Michael Jackson tribute was pretty great...

I just heard Chaka Khan's "I'm every woman", sung by Whitney. That song encompasses how powerful that beautiful voice was. A talent so rare. Ms. Houston is on an 'angel's wing' now.
