Gisele Alexander Wang Appearance Brings Supermodels Back To The Runway (PHOTOS)

As Derek Blasberg tweeted, "Gisele closing Alexander Wang's show reminded everyone why she's a professional supermodel and not a Super Bowl commentator. Looked AMAZING."

The Brazilian model returned to what she knows best, surprising the crowd at Fashion Week by closing Alexander Wang's Fall 2012 show.

Gisele was just one of several supers to hit the dark, mirrored runway: Shalom Harlow and Karolina Kurkova also joined the superstar finale.

Just like her unexpected appearance closing Givenchy's Spring 2012 show last season, Gisele's runway turn was the surprise of the night, especially since Wang is known as the purveyor of all that is young, hip and new.

But the presence of the model veterans at Saturday night's show might have been a signal of Wang's maturity and seasoned status. As Style.com noted, the designer plans to open 14 stores in China in the the next year, seriously expanding his international retail presence.

That's no rookie move.

No, No, No...this is all wrong...New York fashion is acting like America is still an elite superpower....the fashionistas must not have got the memo about Republicans fashioning America into a third world country like Greece. All these beautiful people, dressed in all these expensive materials, struttin down the runway like they own it (actually, some Hedge Fund Manager owns it). Clearly misled.

1. The new style is "Austerity Chic"...featuring
2. Burlap bag dresses
3. Style composites from the dumpster...dirty is the new clean...
4. Used Tire slat shoes
5. Dresses looking like barrels
6. Small sizes reflecting the weight loss about to be imposed on America's middle class
7. The "Homeless Look" for elder women with no home once they lose their social security
8. Styles for much younger women no longer attending public education
9. There was lots of black but not a single iron cross for accessorizing
10. The "Mitt's Assistant" look for paranoid people about to be fired (Mitt loves to fire people) which makes them homeless (#7) and undernourished (#6)
11. "Mittens" with holes in the fingertips
12. Fewer styles for the elderly who will be dieing early when they lose their Medicare
13. So next year's Fashion Week can be more in theme "Down & Out in New York" with a subtext "Poverty reaches the Mittle Class".

After all, if you can look good in Mitt's policy rags, you can look good in anything.

Come on. She made the remark to her private group of friends, not into the microphone of an interviewer. People love to exaggerate.
