Rick Santorum: GOP Race Will Be Between Mitt Romney, Me

Santorum

02/12/12 09:14 AM ET  AP

WASHINGTON -- Rick Santorum says he expects to do well in the next GOP presidential contests and will be in a two-man race with Mitt Romney.

Santorum is coming off victories last week in Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri, and says he can have good showings Feb. 28 in Michigan and Arizona.

The former Pennsylvania senator says he's the latest candidate to challenge front-running Romney and he says Romney is having trouble figuring how to go after a rival who is a "solid conservative" with the ability to win support from independents and Democrats.

Santorum tells ABC's "This Week" that Romney has won in some states by "beating the tar" out of his opponents on massive television ad spending. Santorum says Romney won't have such a fundraising edge over President Barack Obama.

Let's see, Santorum doesn't think women are equipped for combat; should not have access to birth control and abortions (no matter what the situation entails, including rape). Come on women, is this the person you really want as a president? I'm not seeing the smaller government theme republicans are touting. As far as women are concerned (and we should be), it's more like having government control your body. To me, you can't get much more bigger than that. What's next on the far right agenda, women should not vote and must walk ten paces behind their husbands at all times?

Not in the least Rodent Ricky's first bold claim. I'm just waiting for him to declare himself the incarnation of Jesus sent here to save the world. The two man race he refers to consists of Obama and some draftee ( Jeb ) who comes out of the Tampa circus this coming September.

Jeb would have to change his name at the very least as his brother totally ruined whatever chance he may have had to run for the big enchilada. I'll even go so far as to say he is the brightest bulb on the Bush tree. Watt does that mean for a future run? Lights out !

Ask @RickSantorum why he believes women shouldn't have access to birth control, and why he wants to discourage qualified, intelligent women from working at his church's hospitals and universities.

I would like to have Santorum or any other contraception opposed conservative answer a question for me. Should a 12yr old rape victim be allowed, with the permission of a parent, the morning after pill. Since it is impossible to determine whether she is or is not pregnant there is no moral issue. And so there should be no issue for anyone to have access to this treatment. To those who say that contraceptives and the morning after pill promotes promiscuity, I say that is no ones business.

That's what Bachmann said. And then Perry. And then Cain. And then Paul. And then Gingrich. Keep dreaming, Ricky, but you'll be covering election night from FAUX News HQ.

He'll be anywhere but by his dying child's bedside. Of that we can be sure ! This creep should be facing a family court judge , not a camera !

Actually, Santorum's biggest bold claim is that his wife Kathy has had a "legal" abortion.........

What will the "Theocracy" candidate say when that little factoid is brought out - Now the Evangelicals have to choose between a Morman and a Pro-Abortionist - COOOLLL!!!!!!

Take it all the way to the convention, baby! With Paul's delegate strategy and the switching back and forth between Santorum and Romney, hopefully this convention will be anything but a snoozefest.

Santorum's biggest "bold claim" is that Obama thinks he knows better than voters what is best for them.

Said the guy who was voted out of office

Just how can any rational educated human being have more than 1 or 2 kids after looking at a population growth chart

He also believes that 9/11 happened because of gays and feminists.

Nuff said.

Ah....Ricky. You wish!

Having no funds because nobody thinks you are remotely electable you think you can get some if Newt drops out?

LOL. Not gonna happen.

"The former Pennsylvania senator says he's the latest candidate to challenge front-running Romney and he says Romney is having trouble figuring how to go after a rival who is a "solid conservative" with the ability to win support from independents and Democrats."

Santorum needs to look at reality. He has support from 10-15% of Republicans. He has no support from Democrats and 5-10% support from independents. Should he gain the GOP nomination (oh please, oh please) his loss to Obama would make Goldwater's trouncing by LBJ in 1964 look like kids play. Goldwater took one state. Arizona. I strongly doubt Santorum would take Pennsylvania since the last time he ran for office in that state he was trounced by 30 points.
Keep dreaming Rick.

Rick Santorum is living proof that God was able to get long odds, and dropped a serious wager on the President being re-elected. More Than The Numbers Don't Add Up In This Race. Thoughts at 3 A.M. http://thoughtsatthreeam.blogspot.com/?spref=tw
