Dana Jackson, 100-Year-Old Bride, Gets Married At Nursing Home (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 02/13/2012 5:55 pm Updated: 02/14/2012 12:43 pm

For one Kentucky bride, age ain't nothin' but a number.

On Feb. 6, Dana Jackson tied the knot -- on her 100th birthday.

The centenarian married 87-year-old Bill Stauss in a ceremony at the Rosewood Health Care Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky where both reside.

"I feel 50," Jackson told BG Daily News. "I don't feel 100." Jackson tied the knot once before, 85 years ago at the age of 15.

Upon seeing his new bride, the groom shed a few tears of happiness. "It's been 56 years since I had that happen to me," Stauss said. "All I wanted was a close look. When I saw her close up, I saw how beautiful she was."

The couple met two years ago at an adult day care center.

This couple proves that some folks never get tired of white dresses, wedding cakes and champagne. I have to admire their readiness to celebrate and embrace life, looks like, until the end.

Hopefully, they will get to enjoy their life for much longer!

They can't procreate. People who can bear children or can adopt children are the ones who should marry. I'll say it again..................... R I D I C U L O U S.

Didn't your parents teach you that if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all?? Sad waste of a mean comment!

Do you want to be all alone when you are that age? Most everyone else will drop dead by then. At least they found happiness. It's sad when most everyone you love will die and you will be there for it. At least they have each other and they're happy!

How sweet and thanks to all who helped them do this, the family, friends, people at the nursing home. Just think girls this will up the age when they say the average woman over 50 will not marry!!! Good for them. My great-grandfather remarried in his 70's I was only 4 and remember some of the comments. My new step-great-grandmother drove him for the next 14 years we went camping, fishing every where I have wonderful memories of them both.!!!

From the way she is looking at him, he knows he had better be on his best behavior.

Don't you know, younger men have to be kept in line?

Sorry, what she actually said was "It was the same way with all 3 of my weddin's" not "marriages," as I posted a few minutes ago. My mistake, but it still indicates this is her 4th 'weddin'. It didn't mis-hear her, I just mis-remembered. :-)

I actually did not hear that, but it does not necessarly mean that she was married to four different men. I had two weddings in two different countries to the same man. And I have been married to him for 31 years.

Congratulations on 31 years. Marriage isn't the easiest thing even under the best of circumstances so I applaud you. I don't think I said she was married to four different men, but she did say "It was the same way with all 3 of my weddins." I admit it's hard to catch unless your ear is trained to the accent. Kentucky is a beautiful place full of some really wonderful folks and this lovely woman appears to be one of them.

I distinctly heard this sweet little woman say in the video "It was the same with all 3 of my marriages.." Did the author of this article even listen before writing that she had only been married once before at age 15? Unless my math is fuzzy this would be her 4th. Btw, I speak Kentuckian. :-)

I only pray that if I live to be 100 I will have better sense than do this foolishness.

Really. When you get that old, many people you've loved with have died off. Do you really want to be lonely when you get that old, if you do?

Some people are needy and not comfortable with themselves. I don't need a person of the opposite sex (or the same gender) to be happy and content. I don't care about making a spectacle or have people call me 100 years young or what a lovely bride when they really don't mean it. Nope. Lord let me age in dignity.

Different strokes for different folks. Not everyone who needs companionship and love is emotionally "needy," they just have different needs than you. I'm guessing you are pretty young, and love and companionship always sound less appealing to the young than they do to people getting older.

I give it six months. Not to divorce, for one of them to die.

Good songs would be..."you make me feel so young..." and "will you still love me tomorrow...followed by the infamous "I will always love you...by Whitney Houston..." They are sitting on top of the world...la la laaaaaaaaaaa...Beautiful couple...don't ya love the gown and veil. How special are they...and look....yayyyyyyyyy !!!
