LeBron James, Heckler Reportedly Have Heated Exchange During Heat-Wizards Game

How far is too far when it comes to heckling and how far can an athlete go with his verbal response?

Depending on your answers to those questions, it might be that time again to blame something on LeBron. While dominating the Washington Wizards on Friday night in D.C., LeBron James allegedly got into a heated exchange with a heckler over comments about the 2010 rumor involving his mother and former teammate Delonte West.

Sarah Schorno Kogod, a writer for the Capital Games blog on NBC Washington and former contributor to Deadspin, observed the incident and caught up with the fan to get his side of the story.

Kogod tweeted that a fan named Bob Moore made a comment about Gloria James and West when LeBron was waiting alone in the backcourt. The personal attacks seemingly struck a nerve with the two-time MVP, who reportedly responded by threatening Moore.

Sarah Kogod
…Accrdng to Moore, LeBron said “The only reason you talk shit is because you know I can’t come off the court right now and beat your ass”...

Sarah Kogod
…Also according to Moore, LeBron continued “But if I had a free pass, I’d kick your ass right now.”...

Sarah Kogod
…Moore replied “I’m right here baby. Let’s go” before security stepped in.

If Moore's account of the verbal exchange is accurate then his wouldn't be the first time James responded to a heckler talking about his family. In a game against the Detroit Pistons a year ago, James fired back at a fan yelling insults about his mother while sitting near James' two sons.

"I don't care what you say to me. I don't give a [expletive] what you say. But don't be disrespectful," James said after the Detroit incident. The fan was then told to stop heckling James or he would be escorted out of the stadium.

Seriously LeBron...why waste your time going back and forth with a heckler. That is s huge waste of time and you are a better man than that.

You should be spending your time more wisely polishing up all those cahmpionship rings...

Ooops, touchy subject, isn't it?

Jordan 6....the so called King (LMAO!) 0

The King comments are really old and lame.
But lets look at this further...
King of basketball ratings? Jersey sales? Shoes sales? Popularity (even though people hate him?) I get it, he's yet to win a title but basketball and the NBA is ONLY a business. And believe me... He is winning a title when it comes to that.

LeFraud's mom was a constant problem in Cleveland and she ain't no saint. He is obviously extremely embarrassed to be her son and I am sure she is equally embarrassed to his mother. LBJ is a joke of a person and a loser on the court year in and year out. Heckle away fans of real basketball!

I think people are far from intelligent to pay money to see grown men play a child's game, and sports figures are hardly worth looking up to these days so parents should never be surprised at any type of behavior from fans or their sports icons.

Some people don't like others talking about their moma....and some react differently. Lebron kept his hands of the person like a professional. If that situation wasn't at the televised game it would have been a different story.

With him being so defensive, the rumors might be true.

The problem with LeBron is that he has no class. Neither does his mother. He just cannot rise above the baiting that fans like to engage in. This guy has some basketball skills, but he certainly is NOT the whole package. For the money they are paying him, he should be a much more mature and well-rounded athlete.
01:49 AM on 02/14/2012
Agreed!!! Your getting payed to play so play!

Guess you do not remember Larry Bird and some of the most hateful comments. It is not a race issue, do not make it one.
