oh my friend, i am so very sorry to hear that.   when one of mine went missing a year ago, i got him back very quickly by using a service called find toto dot com.  he wasn't wearing a collar because all my kitties stay indoors.

big, big hugs to you and i hope your sweet friend comes home.

many years ago, i had a cat who got out the door and disappeared into the night.  i thought i would never see him again, and i couldn't bear it.  then, two months later, on christmas eve, he came back to my door in the middle of the night.  he never even tried to get out the door again for the rest of his life.

Hi Wolf. I just wanted to tell you that my cat Hecky went missing for nearly two months. I was heart-broken, imagining the worst, and had essentially given up hope.

Then guess who came back one night! Yep, he walked right in through his cat-door, skinny and starving, but healthy and happy to be home!

I had always heard these happy-ending stories before about cats coming home after months, even years, but never really believed them; I thought they were probably made-up to make grieving people feel better. But it really happens. So don't give up: put up posters, check the local animal shelters, shake a bag of treats at night outside your home, etc. I hope s/he comes back!

I have a small farm, cattle, pigs, chickens, cats and dogs. Animals do kiss, I'm not sure they do it for the same reason we do. But you know what they really like. Sniffing and kissing each others genitalia. Some christians say this is unnatural but if animals do it how unnatural could it be.

how do you KNOW why they do it?  it only stands to reason that they will use the body they have to express affection for one another and for us, if we are very lucky, in the way that they know how.

Alyseven, it seems to be common practice now for aggregrators to tempt you to link to a story, but hit you with an ad when you get there. You then have to guess whether the story may be worth it and wait out the ad, or simply give up and close the window. I give up most of the time.

I give up too. It's one thing to have to watch ads in order to watch a video, it's another to have completely misleading headlines. The headlines thing bothers me. The ad thing, I can get over or just ignore because as I said on the piracy topic, it's a way for media and advertisers to adapt to technology.

Who can watch this? The advertising industry is now polluting the entire Internet in ways I would never have thought possible. There were ten slides in this presentation and eight had the same T-mobile ad before you could see the video. You had to sit through more ads than content.

Huffington Post is entitled to make money through advertising, but it does us no favors when the ads are so intrusive as to make the content unwatchable. It really spoiled this slide show for me - one or two ads would be OK. But ten over two or three minutes? Fuhgeddaboudit!
