Valentine's Day is by far one of the most stressful holidays of the year for couples. Whether you're trying to pick out the perfect present, the perfect restaurant or the perfect bouquet of flowers, it's certainly not easy.

To make things even more complicated, companies rake in tons of cash marketing "romantic" and "sexy" products to the masses, trying to convince you to buy tacky, confusing or borderline offensive gifts. We mean come on: who's REALLY buying edible undies for Valentine's Day -- much less ones made out of meat?

You can always count on some cold turkey to try to take the fun out romance and sex. (Though I suspect the Brief Jerky was more art project than lovers gift, the other examples could provide some, uh, stimulation, even if it is comedic.)

The USB Heart necklace is cool, particularly if it's in white gold, silver or the big girl...platinum. And...diamonds would be nice too. Just sayin'. But some of the other gifts are simply awful.

Years ago, I would buy a package of those candy hearts, sand off those sentimental romantic messages, take a fine point red pen, and replace them with my own, less than sentimental, but romantic in a perverse sort of way, messages, and pass them out to female acquaintances. They garnered a few laughs, but rarely helped my cause.
