Bubbles The Chimpanzee Loves Her Valentine's Day Gift From Zoo Miami Staff (PHOTOS)

Posted: Updated:

"Life is like a box of chocolates or fruits and peanut butter," says Zoo Miami. "You never know what you’re gonna get."

But on Valentine's Day, of course, you get love, or at least the kind between a jaunty pink box and an adorable chimpanzee named Bubbles, who was clearly enjoying the delicious, square gift from staff she received at the Zoo's Amphitheater.

And why not? Not only is Bubbles a 45-year-old female (we're told girls like Valentine's Day), but the boxes were painted with hearts and stuffed with fruits and vegetables and peanut butter -- all part of a zoo program to stimulate animals' natural behavior in foraging and searching for food. As staff wrote on Facebook, "May you all be as happy as Bubbles was when she opened her special gift!"
