Didn't even know he was Jolie's ex. I'm pretty sure his headline could stand on its own without that old info.

I am just thinking how well the Americanized Prime Suspect worked out. Not very well. Sherlock Holmes is another character that cannot be taken out of its British landscape without losing a vital part of its appeal.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Miller, but I have no hope that CBS can develop a Sherlock that is as compelling as that from BBC/Masterpiece. It's never going to happen.

He's too short to be Sherlock! Holmes was 6'4."

Nothing against Jonny Lee Miller, I rather like him but he has to match the character he's playing.

Good casting. If you've seen Miller in "Mansfield Park" and "Dead Man's Walk", you'd know he's a fine actor.

The BBC Sherlock is magnificent! Why not air that? There couldn't be a better Sherlock Holmes than Benedict Cumberbatch. You can't improve on him.

That along with Pushing Daisies were two shows that really hurt when they cancelled them. I don't get these dillholes. so it isn't breaking records; it's still got a great loyal following that makes it money.

Is that gonna be written on his gravestone, that he was Angelina's ex? Poor guy.

Seriously headline writers, you had to refer to him as Angelina's ex? You don't think that's a tad bit demeaning to the guy? As if it matters that he was married to her and isn't a pretty darned good actor of his own merit?

am not sure CBS can be relevant with BBC on the air with its version but then again, many viewers of CBS might not be fans of BBC . . . miller is great and perfect casting for sure . . . but sherlock is really being very well done already . . .

Ugh. Why are they doing this! Benedict Cumberbatch in the BBC version of Sherlock is absolutely magnificent and mesmerising. Truth be told, he's spoiled that role for me as I don't think any other actor will be able to hold a candle to his portrayal of Holmes. Even Watson and Mycroft are perfect in the British version.

Why are they always trying to remake successful British shows? Next, you're going to tell me they're going to remake Luther, at which point I'll have to send a strongly-worded letter to the network execs.

There's room enough for any number of interpretations. Why limit yourself?

Jeremy Brett is incomparable but think what I'd had missed had I turned up my nose at the idea of "Sherlock."

Does anyone know who the Watson is? The standard of making him a real character has been set with Martin Freeman's version.

It will be tough for anyone to match Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as they both set the bar pretty high...

Sherlock Holmes in NYC? Will he even be British in this version?

This is not a remake of a British show per se. This just another adaptation out of 100's that have been done based on these books. I love seeing new adaptations of this and other classic books. Jonny lee Miller is a great actor in his own right. The issue won't be the acting, it will be the writing.
