Lauren Scruggs, Model Who Walked Into Plane Propeller, Goes On Ski Vacation

Lauren Scruggs, the young woman who accidentally walked into a plane's propeller in December, has not only left the hospital but she took a ski trip this past weekend.

The model and blogger, who lost her left eye and left hand in the accident, headed to Steamboat Springs, Colo. last weekend with family and friends, People.com reports.

This vacation marks the first time Scruggs has Tweeted photos of herself since the accident, "Today" reported. Her parents also reTweeted their daughter's sentiments.

Scruggs Tweeted a photo of her and her friends watching ski jumping, and one with her sister.

Wow GOD BLESS Her! Lauren certainly is a prime example of "picking yourself up & movin on" despite prosthesis (though having "model" $$ surely helps that along) & missing a limp or extremity - she's an inspiration to injured or mamed people all over! She's a beauty for sure & I'm thinking even with a prosthetic eye, she's still a knockout & has a twin sister?!? That's pretty great too, I hope she uses her misfortune to teach children or young kids how a devastating mishap or injury doesn't have to ruin your life. You can still go on & be successful & have fun - GREAT FOR HER!! Truly a remarkable woman ! I pray God continues to bless her with strength & ambition ! KUDOS to you Lauren!!! God blessed us with you !

I'm glad she's doing well...I think people are so fascinated by this story because it's not very often you hear about somebody walking into an airplane's propellor. In fact, this is the only time I've ever heard of somebody doing it and I'm almost 43 years old.

If you have lived thru a tragedy, you know the story changes as you recover. For survivors, life never stops being a story worth telling. This is still a story because she is in a recovery phase that many people will recognize. Uncaring comments come from uncaring people.

Glad to see that she is still a pretty girl that is still embracing life and moving on from the tragedy that struck her life. If more people could have an attitude like hers I think this world would be a better place.

I heard she was trying to thank the Pilot for showing her the Christmas Lights. Still very sad. Beautiful Girl, recovering the best she can. God Bless Her! Hope she does well.

I agree. For a site that is purportedly filled with compassoinate progressives, I'm stunned at the crudeness here.

While I don't think she deserves acclaim (nor did she seek it), I think she deserves pity and certainlyI don't she deserves the ridicule to this extent either. As if the people making the comments they do have never done something that could have taken their own life or caused serious injury (like drunk driving)

. I wonder how much being a model, pretty, and blonde has to do with it. Wonder what the reaction would be if this were, God forbid, the First Lady, Johnny Depp, or Margaret Cho.

I am not as inspired as I would have been. She covered up the eye as if nothing happened. I would have felt a lot more respect for her if she was showing pics with the injury visible going "Yeah, I accept it already. This is who I am." Instead, these are the "Hey, I still look pretty, everybody! Don't forget about me already..."
