Model Falls At Dennis Basso Runway Show (PHOTOS)

They don't call it Fall Fashion Week for nothing.

This week has seen stumbles on the runways of The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection, Richard Chai, Theyskens' Theory, Y-3, Naeem Khan and now Dennis Basso.

At his Tuesday show, the fur and ready-to-wear designer had a front row filled with the likes of Star Jones, Joan Rivers, Ivanka Trump and Susan Lucci when a model, clad in a bright orange skirt and sequined top (and some gorgeous orange lipstick, we might add) stumbled and fell in the middle of the runway.

Despite show-goers shocked faces and phone cameras, she got back and kept strutting. 'Atta girl.

Frankly I her vulnerability with regard to her fall was charming. That red dress has more attention now than it would have if she had just walked on and off without incident.

It is nice to see a human.

She is really beautiful. Wow.

It's always funny (I'm sorry, but it just is, I can't help it) when this happens. I'm not trying to be mean. Even Karlie Kloss fell last year.

The utterly ridiculous shoes and slippery floors are to blame, but the designers who force the girls to wear the shoes are the worst violators of all. Those aren't shoes, they are instruments of torture. I saw on America's Next Top Model a few years ago, the girls were told to wear shoes 2 to 3 sizes too small. The shoes were a minimum of 4" heels. That wasn't a contest, it was abuse.

There is NO real reason for the heels to be that high. Would it kill the designers and stylists to providemodels with a bit lower heeled shoes. And can they design the runways to have some amount of traction?

it's the SHOES people.. gawd I'm surprised more of them don't fall. The walk isn't the problem but what they're walking ON. Some of those things they put on their feet scare the crap out of me... and the models sometimes.

Maybe these designers should try making something that actually looks good, instead of something obnoxious that only fits anorexics.

I agree its not really news, but what would be was if there was some 'model governing body' who decreed models on the runway had to stop walking like stalks - the birds I mean. Not only is it unnatural but really too funny for words, and a lot funnier than some poor girl tripping over.

Well, models ARE by nature exhibitionist, you have to be to be able to strut in front of strangers. So the fact that they sometimes wear absurd clothing is just the dangers of the trade. Their public humiliation is no different than our own when we slip in front of others, theirs is just modified by the nature of their work. If you accidentally fall in front of photographers who are covering, say a presidential debate for instance, I'm pretty sure that humiliation would be publicized as well, it's a side show benefit on their end.
