Some people seem to think Ghetto Hikes is racist. Take note that the page says the kids are of all racial backgrounds. If you're automatically attaching race to any statement there, it would actually suggest that the racism is in yourself.

I still don't get the humour in putting quotes and screencaps from different shows together. I've never seen a single one of those that was even remotely funny, and yet it keeps happening. It's not only really dumb, but it's now completely tired and overdone. Enough already.

In which a person gains the trust of a group of youth that is going to have issues trusting folks in the first place, and then betrays that trust by exploiting them for laughs, and encourages other folks to laugh at them, too? And a site that /additionally/ gives itself the racist title "Ghetto" Hikes?

The Bon Iver one is the best because it's a simplified explanation of race relations. Most white people know who Bon Iver is because a.) he doesn't rap, and b.) he's a lyrical/musical genius. It takes actual though and consideration to appreciate his music. Notice how everyone who didn't know who he was was black. Need I say more.

I'm really disappointed of the inclusion of Ghetto Hikes. Obviously the writer isn't concerned with the implications of wasting time on a website that promotes racism. It's not funny for a person to make fun of the way his students are speaking in an "urban" or "ghetto" dialect. The American use of the term ghetto is to signify a poor, culturally or racially homogenous urban area. So let’s make fun of the children and the way they talk from the poverty stricken ghetto neighborhoods. The lack of knowledge about animals and nature coupled with incorrect grammar reveal a poor quality of education. & I’m really surprised Huffington Post thinks it’s ok.
