Chinese Man Proposes With Dress Made Of 9,999 Roses (PHOTO)

Roses Dress

A man in China proposed to his girlfriend on Valentine's Day. Pretty standard, right?

Not in this case: the Romeo first stipulated that his girlfriend be wearing a dress made of 9,999 roses stitched together when he popped the question.

Xiao Fan had dressmakers work furiously to churn out the dress, which features a five-foot train and which his now-fiancee Yin Mi, who was crowned Miss Bikini 2009 in China, topped with a fur shrug.

Fan then proposed at the Guangzhou Chime-Long Paradise, where the couple first met. We're assuming (hoping!) that after all that fuss, Mi said yes.

The number 9,999 is a lucky number in Chinese culture; bodies are often buried with that number of coins.

Surprisingly, this isn't the only outlandish roses dress that got crafted this Valentine's Day. A company called Asda just released a dress made of 2,000 roses, but obviously, they lost the numbers game.

What we want to know is: can you get it dry-cleaned?

Check out the literally floral frock below, and click over to the Daily Mail to see even more pictures of the gown.

Hopefully the relationship will last longer than the dress would....
A romantic gesture for sure... I just feel bad for all those wasted roses...
(that said, it sure beats giving your girlfriend a vaccum cleaner or a diet certificate for V-day...which I know some did...)

When hugging she asked..." are you happy to see me, or is that a thorn?".

That is beautiful!! Can you imagine how much it must have cost? I'm sure someone will make a copy out of fake roses...it's a good thing she isn't allergic.

The dress is beautiful but what an outrageous waste of resources and flowers. Typical overkill and excess.

What a very smart way to waste the money that is made by their "lesser class Chinese
workers(?)" - Totally over-the-top and gaudy.......(not to mention a perfectly good waste
of gorgeous roses. Loved your 1-800 comment.

How much of a percentage do you give out of your checks to charity? I hope as least as much as he wasted on this dress. (what percentage of his money did he spend?)

Had Ms. Mi didn't comply to make the dress, would Mr. Fan still propose? One has to wonder considering the lady looks lovely and the guy, er let's just say not presentable.
Isn't that ludicrous?

that is going to be a butt load of poperee
