Dave Matthews Band Summer 2012 Tour Dates

Dave Matthews Band

First Posted: 02/15/2012 2:03 pm Updated: 02/15/2012 2:03 pm

After a year-long hiatus, Dave Matthews and his band are headed back on tour this summer.

Dave Matthews Band will kick off its 39-stop tour in Woodlands, Texas on May 18 and finish off in Mountainview, California on September 9.

The Grammy-winning band recently headed back to the studio with producer Steve Lillywhite, who worked with them on their first three albums, Under The Table And Dreaming, Crash, And Before These Crowded Streets. DMB will likely blend old fan favorites like "Crash Into Me," "The Space Between," and "Where Are You Going" with some of their new material.

"Start getting excited!" bassist Stefan Lessard tweeted early this morning.

listen..as far as a following, anyone nowadays can get a following. look at the kardashians? but dose that mean its good?...It just means that anyone that the media thinks is "cool" ..gets a free pass and lots of press.....Look how this free ad for them ended up here? This isnt news as much as its free advertisement....

DMB has been popular for years and years amongst those that follow them without any media to help them along.

Why wouldn't they? DMB has been touring for years and years. They tour for their fans and for the joy of playing music together as a band.

Great news, I can't wait for the new music. Not only great musicians but they also have a great social consciousness.

When did we become so comfortable with just tearing things down? We are a society who no longer looks to build or create but simply demolish. Sad.

...oh yeh! Such a songwriter-- and an astounding mix of players in his band. And he's back with Lillywhite; that bodes well. The so-called "Lillywhite Sessions" is certainly the greatest album never (officially) released.

Yeah, I mean it's probably way better than the original Smile album by the Beach Boys... sure.

Believe it or not, I'm just getting into this band. In fact one of their songs" The Proudest Monkey", inspired me to write about my father. The lyrics introduce the novel. i know they are copy righted. How does one approach a major band and ask if they will allow the use of their song for a struggling older writer? No doubt i'll have to delete it from the novel, but it really really works.

My father left the "safety of the trees", so to speak, and ventured ( country boy into the City "car horns, corners and the gritty," and then well.... the question becomes how does one go home again? My father never did. He grieved.

Now,as i age i finally understand his grief.

Good to see they're working with Steve Lillywhite again. A great producer and someone I think really helped them expand their sound. Gonna have to go in July.

Guess I'll arrange any drug test before the shows.
