Lollapalooza 2012 Lineup Leaked? Perry Farrell Calls Tweeter 'A Fraud,' Denies Rumors (PHOTOS)

Lollapalooza 2012 Lineup Rumors

First Posted: 02/15/2012 3:06 pm Updated: 03/28/2012 12:22 pm

Update: The creator of the @lollaleaks Twitter account said the whole lineup was made up. Festival organizers have yet to confirm any acts. Read more here.

While Chicago's Lollapalooza is still more than five months away from taking over the city's Grant Park, an alleged lineup for the annual music festival has already emerged.

Anonymous Twitter account @lollaleaks on Saturday tweeted the Aug. 3-5 festival's supposed headliners -- Metallica, Beyonce, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Killers, Beck and Sonic Youth. On Wednesday, the tweeter claimed that Justice, Chromeo and Bassnectar would also be playing the festival's Perry's stage.

@lollaleaks was not the only supposed lineup "leaker." As The Sights and Sounds reports, @thelollaleaker released more supposed additions to the 2012 festival lineup including The Shins, M83, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Gotye, At The Drive-In, Garbage, Missy Elliott, Guided By Voices, Sleigh Bells, Passion Pit, Korn, Skrillex, M.I.A., Calvin Harris and about a dozen other acts.

The news enraged festival organizer Perry Farrell, who took to Twitter to berate @lollaleaks, calling the anonymous tweeter "a red tick," "a fraud" and likely an individual with "a small penis." Farell tweeted Sunday that the festival lineup "has not been finalized."

The festival's lineup is not expected to officially be announced until sometime this spring. A similar leak situation occurred last year and reports of rumored acts playing the festival mostly turned out to be accurate.

I like the lineup if true. It skews a little 90s and thus might be better received by 30-somethings than the teen set. Passion Pit is highly underrated.

Nothing worth spending money on here. Apart from Skrillex this is a dreadful line-up. It's composed of washed up headbangers, irrelevant 90s alternative acts, a biz atch who clears out a maternity ward because her baby is more improtant than anyone elses, a bird-flipping English rapper who no one heard of until Superbowl Sunday, and Joan Jett (wonder what she'll finish the set with...?) Last year's line-up was stellar - Muse, My Morning Jacket, Deadmau5, The Cars, Girl Talk, Foster The People ...

If Skrillex is your top choice of the rumors, I choose to not follow your judgement.
Beck, The Shins, Passion Pit, Gaslight Anthem, Kimbra?

Also, irrelevant 90's acts? What is Skrillex going to be in five years? An irrelevant mac book pro player.

you're missing the worlds biggest band. It may not be your type of music but its no reason to leave them out. Coldplay is the biggest band in the world right now whether you like it or not :)

Metallica?! Chili Peppers?! If true, sign me up!

I hope this line-up isn't true. Pretty underwhelmed.
No Pulp? Stone Roses?

They'll have to get Stone Roses. SR aren't big enough in the US to make a big tour so they need festival gigs.

doesn't matter who plays at lolla. they way the schedule gets laid out, all the bands you want to see play at the same time on opposite ends of the park. it's ridiculous.

Beyonce? Korn?? Pitchfork has once again, become a joke just like it did back in the 90's. Starts off good, and then collapses under the weight of its own grandiosity
