'New Girl': Will 'True Blood's' Ryan Kwanten Be Jess' First One Night Stand? (VIDEO)

'New Girl' One Night Stand With 'True Blood's' Ryan Kwanten

It was a double dose of new guest stars on "New Girl" (Tue., 9 p.m. EST on Fox). Clark Duke was Julia's wildly inappropriate and insecure assistant, while Jess' quest to find a one-night stand for Valentine's Day led her to Ryan Kwanten ("True Blood") in the character of lunch and taco loving Oliver. Interestingly, Oliver turned out to be about as dim as Jason Stackhouse, but Jess wasn't interested in his mind.

Not that she was comfortable or suave about her intended one night stand with him either. To make matters worse, Oliver's lack of a car meant she had to have Schmidt drive them over to Oliver's place. But then Schmidt wouldn't leave. And then Oliver's ex-girlfriend -- who still lived there -- showed up. By the time it was pretty much not going to happen, Cece had shown up as well with her boyfriend, Kyle, who was tripping after eating some magic mushrooms.

In other words, there was nothing romantic left about the situation. So it was a complete bust. Jess was so vulnerable, she found herself drawn to Schmidt back at home. Had Nick not stopped her, causing her to spill her box of 100 condoms -- really! -- she might have gone through with it. What a debacle for her that would have been.

What a debacle it is going to be for Cece. Her boyfriend is a trainwreck, and Schmidt is actually a very sweet guy underneath his douchebag surface layer. So when Jess called Cece to confess that she'd almost slept with Schmidt, it was in Schmidt's bed that Cece was answering the phone, the deed already done.

"New Girl" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
