Princess Charlene, Prince Albert Oscars Appearance Would Make Our Day

Here's a fun intersection of fashion and royalty: Princess Charlene is gunning for an Oscars invite.

Or so Page Six says. Styleite tipped us off to the short blurb in the Post, which reports, "Princess of Monaco Charlene Wittstock and Prince Albert are hoping to attend the Feb. 26 awards, sources say."

We're not sure who the "sources" are, but suffice it to say this would be amazing. Real royalty with a real Hollywood connection (we don't have to remind you that Prince Albert's mother was Grace Kelly, do we?), gracing the Academy Awards red carpet in high-fashion glory? We're too excited to type.

But not too excited to brainstorm Oscar dresses for Charlene -- it could be Akris, Char's personal favorite, or Christian Dior, who she's worn as well. Giorgio Armani worked closely with the princess on her wedding gown, so we could be seeing some Armani Prive... or maybe Alexander McQueen, worn by another European royal on a Los Angeles red carpet.

Then again, her mother-in-law, Princess Grace, wore everyone from Chanel and Balenciaga to Madame Grès (back in the day) and Yves Saint Laurent. Perhaps Monaco's current princess will take a page out of Grace's book?

She is stunning and beautiful. Like his father, he married a woman who fits the title of Princess. I sure that Princess Grace (Kelly) and Prince Rainier would consent to this marriage.

Don't insult her by referring to her as Char. That's appalling you'd be that disrespectful to her. Her name is CHARLENE. You need to rewrite this article and send the palace an apology letter and actually do some RESEARCH before printing an "article" like this. Can you say "botched journalism" and/or tabloid?
It's FACT they are attending the Oscars. Any idiot knows this by now. It was announced in January.
It's likely they are attending for one of two reasons, if not both: 1) there's going to be some sort of Grace Kelly tribute in honor of the 30th anniversary of her death and/or 2) to help promote the upcoming "Grace of Monaco" film due to be filmed this year and due out in 2014.

And fact check: Akris is NOT "her favorite" try Armani. DUH. Was Akris at her wedding and her prominent designer of her clothes? NO. Armani was! DUH. Insulting Charlene first, now Armani. Way to go. You should apologize to him too as she's one of his most well known clients.
If you had actually done your research, you'd have known that and wouldn't look like an idiot.

You've got it reversed. Catherine (NEVER KATE EVER!!!!! If you respected her, you'd call her Catherine as she hates being called Kate.) and William are NOT in love. At all. They haven't been for a long time. They only married because it's what was "expected".
Charlene has actually done something as a Princess, and even before she was a princess. What has Catherine done other than stand around and take flowers from little kids? NOT A THING. NOTHING.

That is extremely exciting!!!!!! They will add dazzle and shine to America should they chose to attend the Oscars in honor of Grace Kelly. ALL eyes will be on Charlene, no doubt she will look like a Nordic goddess. I hope all those Hollywood 2 bit actresses take some fashion cues from Princess Charlene, God knows they need it. Charlene & Albert look very content. Albert beams with pride just to have her on his arm.

I was dismayed to see the sadness in her eyes after the marriage. I think the best that can be said of her expressions now is "sadder, but wiser." Whether it is the marriage itself or the incessant demands of being on display and always perfect, who knows? Still beautiful, though, and almost always perfectly dressed.

Where did you come up with that? I'm a groupie or a hater or a hater of groupies (your syntax leaves it unclear) simply because I was sorry to see sadness behind a lovely smile? I rarely read these stories, but like many other women, I do like to see gorgeous outfits from time to time...sorta beats the socks off my LLBean jeans and timeless t-shirts wardrobe.
