Whitney Houston Said She 'Wanted To See Jesus' Just Days Before Death

Whitney Houston Wanted To See Jesus

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 02/15/2012 5:44 pm Updated: 03/ 5/2012 6:44 pm

Could Whitney Houston have predicted her own death?

Just days before the songstress was found dead in her hotel room on Feb. 11, friends said Houston said she "wanted to see Jesus" and "felt her time was coming," TMZ reports.

In addition, Houston was reportedly discussing Bible passages, including Matthew: 3:16 and Matthew 3:17, which read:

As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.

Houston began her career by singing gospel music with her mother, Cissy Houston, at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J.

Church members mourned her death on Feb. 12 by praying for her family.

Gospel singer Marvin Winans will deliver the eulogy at Houston's funeral on Feb. 18 at New Hope, the Religion News Service reports. The service will be closed to the public.

In a 2009 interview, Houston told Oprah Winfrey that her faith even helped her through her drug addiction.

"I knew God was there. I knew the light was there, and I was just trying to get back to it," Houston said, according to ABC News.

Just days before her death, Houston attended Kelly Price's pre-Grammy party, where both women sang "Jesus Loves Me." Watch Houston's last performance in the video below.

It's not hard to predict your own death while eating Valiums and getting hammered in a bathtub!

Pretty silly headline.

I hereby predict that I shall die.

And she just happened to die just before the Grammys. Prediction AND good timing...the Grammys, once more, were all about her.
10:44 AM on 02/19/2012
Let me see...she's smokin' a bunch of crack and drinking herself senseless pretty much everyday. Hmm...not real hard to predict an imminent death.

She predicted her life, why would she not predict her death. We choose it all from know and unknow levels of consciousness. She lived the life she intended to live, otherwise we would be
reading a whole different story about her life.

Listen to the lyrics of "Your love is My Love"

She certainly thought about it for a while.

It's not like she wrote that song. She didn't write any of her own music. She was just a singer who sang other people's words.

but she chose to sing that song for some reason.

What's your point? She can't read the lyrics and relate to them? Back away from the computer and breathe. It's not that serious.

Did Whitney Houston Predict Her Death?

This is so pathetically funny and stupid....... the way she was drinking and drugging an IDIOT could have predicted her death.

Lots of suicidal people talk that way. Its not magic, its depression, and her alerting her friends that she was "done". To call this prophetic is absurd.

Very beautiful and very, very talented; but had a complete lack of common sense and vision. Also very sad that her closest friends were unable to help.

What is Job's Crucible?

I've been around people (my own brother at 21) that expressed that they've "felt death". As a Christian I don't believe in the finality of the soul/spirit. What hurts most people when death comes is the fact that you can't see or talk with them until one's own appointed time. Whitney is gone from the earth but is not "dead".

Their is a lesson about Whitney's death that serves as a reminded that one can lose your salvation ( I don't believe that she lost her's BTW) by rejecting John 3:16 and the reality of John 14:6. Without question, Whitney dropped her guard and the dark forces consumed her. The fact that she was lost but still held onto the Promise of Jesus tells me that Jesus met her with open arms. Whitney's life serves as a reminder that gifted people will be the #1 targets for the Devil and his demons. Their purpose is to show the destruction of a gifted person so people can wonder and say, “Why would God allow a person-raised in the church- to be humiliated like that?" Its a reminder to keep your faith.

Many people believe that when their loved ones die that they will meet Jesus. If you check the scriptures you will realise that this is not the case. Ecc 9:5,10. The reality is a hope of a resurrection as John 5:28, 29 back to the earth after sleeping in death for a long time. One of the lessons about the death is recorded at Romans 6:23." the wages of sin is death"- when a person dies they have paid that debt. However they are not without hope as God extends the prospect of everlasting life on earth to persons. In the end we have a choice. We can choose to work towards making a good name with God (store up treasures in heaven) or a good name with the world ( store up treasures on earth) In the end our future rests in God's hands.

What is Job's Crucible?

Dear Toutlaguerre ,

I am not a big fan of many on these boards because I speak the Truth and I don't yield to mocking and criticism. I am also a Christian that doesn't project hope to those who are wondering about what occurs after we pass on to the next dimension. Now if we use the example of Luke 16: 19-31 that involves Lazarus and the rich man, we know that ALL people will meet Jesus but all will not be able to stay with Him. Those with the Blood of Jesus on them-no matter what they did on earth- will be at His right side and those without His Blood will be on the left. Use Ecclesiastes 10:2 to let that make perfect sense. Now the story isn't finished as there is Judgment Day. I simply do not know what Jesus will do then. Do you realize that a person like Adolf Hitler might make it into the New Heaven and Earth (Revelation 21:1) and Mother Teresa or you might not???

End part 1…

Part 2…
Sounds unfair but again think of what is written in Ecclesiastes 10:2. Also, there is something called the "Second Death"(Revelation 20:14) and THAT IS the debt that sin and one’s inclination will bring on. Also, there is no "sleeping" or soul sleep when we pass on. Please use Revelation 6;9-11 to dispel that false teaching that we will awaken at the Rapture judgment Day. Again, my feeling is that Whitney feel away from Jesus, got closer and was taken by the Lord. She is on the right hand side waiting us to join in Judgment Day.

Have a great day.

"Gee your brainwashed rants make me feel so much better...not that I cared anyway"

Who asked for your opinion anyway? Did your rant make you feel better? Now if science doesn’t fail me, I’d say that you’re a product of some constant issue that started as a child with your father; it’s always the father.

Your bio speaks volumes. There is a verse about you in the Bible. I'll bet that you didn't know that, huh? Now when you can take a moment away from being rude, look up (it’s called the Bible) Ecclesiastes 10:2.

Have a great day.

Considering her well documented abuse of prescription drugs and cocaine it is more than likely she sensed her organs failing. It's not that uncommon for someone to realize they are about to die.

@noSomeone Out There:

I feel so SORRY for people like you (sadly there are so many of you as shown by the comments on this story) who DON'T believe in God or the FACT that there is another life after this present one on earth is OVER. Whitney seemed to have been very SPIRITUAL with a close relationship with Jesus.

Rest in peace, Whitney, you cannot hurt yourself or be hurt by anyone else anymore, and we are praying for Bobbi Kristina!

That observation was not an attack on your religious beliefs. It could well be that Ms. Houston did not feel well at all. She may have sensed that her health was declining.

Anything is possible. She may have been quite deluded and may have planned the whole thing. Indoctrination from infancy is almost indelible and infused with drugs, is a mind-blowing experience. But there is no magic or supernatural activity, so get over it.
08:27 AM on 02/17/2012
Seems to come to 1 John 4:8,16 GOD IS LOVE. To believe otherwise, that God or Jesus are entities in heaven leads to thoughts as proposed that Whitney had.

The AGONY,
of Jesus Christ reminds us of the Worth of LOVE.

That's an interesting theory. I am surprised that someone wouldn't have seen those comments as more aligned with being suicidal. Comments like that might be construed as a decision not a prediction.
