'Awake': Watch The First Episode Early (VIDEO)

NBC experimented with releasing the "Smash" pilot early and apparently liked the outcome. Now the Peacock network has also released its anticipated reality-bending drama "Awake" online.

Debuting officially on Thurs., March 1 at 10 p.m. EST, "Awake" tells the story of Detective Michael Britten (Jason Isaacs). Britten is in a tragic car accident with his wife and son that splits his life into two alternate realities. In one reality his wife is dead and he's now a single father Rex (Dylan Minnette). In the other, his son is dead and he and his wife Hannah (Laura Allen) attempt to adjust to life after the loss of their child.

Britten has a different partner and a different therapist in each world. Clues from one reality often help solve crimes in the other. "Awake" hails from "Lone Star" creator Kyle Killen and also stars Cherry Jones, B.D. Wong, Michaela McManus and Wilmer Valderrama.

Jason Isaacs was great in the BBC series where he starred as Jackson Brodie, a former cop now private eye in Scotland. The mostly bleak scenery matched the bleak outlook that Isaacs' character has. The books that the series is based on are by Kate Atkinson and are worth the read. This new series sounds odd and I hope it's not a waste of his talent.

I hope he is in a coma. A Psychologist/Psychiatrist that didn't recommend to a Police Department that their Detective is having problems separating he reality from a dream world and should be removed from duty as being mentally incapable to do his job, is clearly bad at their job. If awake, he should be remanded to a psych ward somewhere and pumped full of meds. Because he is probably suffering from some type of schizophrenia.

the one where the man is the counseler, it says that his blood alcohol level was up... and policeman says i was not drunk.... so.. if you are diabetic it can effect how your blood alcohol levels are.
I think... he is diabetic.. there was a crash... that either both or alive or both dead... or maybe he is dead... I think he is probable in coma limbo land.

I thought the same thing. But then again I thought the same thing about Lost too. So it is either that he is dead or... maybe he never existed in first place. Remember the ending of well maybe before your time but long time ago St Elsewhere ended ...doctors got shot... turmoil turmoil.. and then... the whole series took place in mind of autistic child. The hospital itself was just a hospital in snowglobe. Roseane...dan was dead, sister was the lesbian, not mother, mother was dead for a long long time. Darlene was married to other sisters husband... beckys husband. Becky was married to David, who had been Darlenes boyfriend/husband in series.

This sounds like a really interesting story line. I think it will bring out the tears in me in the episodes when his son is dead.

That so sucks that you can't watch it if you're in Canada, but in any event I'm excited about Awake to start! It looks good.
