'Braxton Family Values': Evelyn Gathers The Girls For Some Major Life-Changing News (VIDEO)

The Braxton clan got together to share some good news on "Braxton Family Values" (Thu., 9 p.m. EST on WE). Evelyn gathered all of her daughters around the table, and got her son on the phone, so she could share her big news. The mood was already light when Toni arrived late, and got a theme song performance from the other girls.

So it was in this joyous and happy atmosphere that Evelyn said, "Doc has asked me to marry him and I have accepted."

After a momentary shock across the room, the girls erupted with enthusiasm and approval. "Are you ready for marriage?" Toni asked her, but Evelyn's response said it all.

"At my age?" she joked.

The wedding is scheduled for sometime in 2012. The family and network do a pretty good job of keeping these big events out of the media spotlight, so they can be more compelling and fresh when they happen on the series. It's safe to say this wedding will occur on "BFV," and without the ridiculous amount of media hoopla that occurred surrounding the Kardashian wedding debacle.

Who are these people and who cares? AOL has sunk to new levels never before reached in a slow progression in the journalistic race to the bottom and I use the word journalism in the same sentence with AOL with much hesitation. When average Americans don't know they are receiving "government benefits"; when there is a political battle in our country against civil rights; AOL repeatedly reports stories about one name wannabees accompanied by irrelevant videos. American culture is so much about nobodies who are being marketed by somebody through obnoxious and salacious behavior and not about the arts, literature and civility. Our society is in the race to the bottom, but it doesn't mean AOL has to join and encourage it.
