Jon Stewart Mocks Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney's Latest Political Ads (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart Rick Santorum

On Thursday night's "Daily Show" Jon Stewart caught up with the GOP primary race in a special "It's Still Only February" edition of Indecision 2012, this time focusing on frontrunners (we think -- we can't keep up anymore) Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum's latest political ads.

First, Stewart pointed out some pretty funny inaccuracies in Romney's latest ad aimed at connecting with Michigan voters, which shouldn't be too hard since he grew up there. But in his attempt to not look like an out-of-touch billionaire who suggested we let Detroit to go bankrupt, Romney accidentally showed a photo of himself and his father in New York City (instead of Michigan). The fact that the car he drives in the ad is made in Canada was just a bonus.

But on to the good stuff: Rick Santorum's "Rombo" ad that had Jimmy Kimmel cracking up on his show the other night. A while back, Jon Stewart put a moratorium on jokes about Santorum's other meaning. So when he saw the ad -- which features a cardboard cut-out of Santorum being hit with big globs of "mud" -- you can just imagine how hard it was for him to resist.

"This is entrapment!" Stewart joked.

Is that anti-Romney Santorum ad with the Shytttball gun REAL? Tell me that's a REAL ad, not a satire.
OMFG. What has become of the republicans?

Thank god that someone is calling these politicians out, the politicians may make SOPA but we'll always have Johnathan spot on humor to nip them in the butt.

If Mitt loses MI... game on! He loves the height of the trees in Michigan.

What? I just don't get this one.

In an attempt to appear genuine, Mitt enthused about what he loves about Michigan, including that the trees are the "right height." What is the right height for trees, whether all trees in the state are the same height, or if there are different right heights for different trees are questions awaiting resolution. Could a tree of the "right height" across the lake in Wisconsin be considered an honorary Michigander?

in news conference on why he love MI he stated that "the trees are just the right height"

I have to say that I had the same question about what was being splattered in that Santorum ad as Jon. WHAT were his people thinking? Do they think?

I guess the "VIDEO" part of the headline refers to a theoretical HULU video...

Sad on Santorum campaign manager's part that he let a gay PR person sell him on the "mudslinging" concept.

I would just like to say that I recently saw a bumper sticker that said:

I WATCH JON STEWART AND I VOTE.

Amen!!!

Mittens choice of photographs vs. captions clearly reveal how moved he was by each of those two trips - i suppose when one spends ones life jet-setting about, one tends to blur the lines among life-changing events. Ah the woes of wealth - as Randy Newman might say - "Oh, it's lonely at the top!".
