Proposal Video: New Jersey Town Hall Meeting Engagement (VIDEO)

First Posted: 02/17/2012 4:57 pm Updated: 02/17/2012 5:12 pm

A town hall meeting might seem like an unlikely place to propose, but for one New Jersey man, it was the perfect place to pop the question.

When Joe from Cherry Hill, NJ got tickets to a town hall event hosted by two local radio personalities, Dennis and Judi, he knew his long-time girlfriend Emily would be excited; she was a huge fan of the duo's radio show. Joe e-mailed the radio station and asked Dennis and Judi to help him the the proposal; the pair agreed.

During the meeting's closing Q&A session, Joe was scheduled to ask final question of the night, but radio host Judi began firing questions at him about his relationship with Emily instead. When the on-air personality asked why the couple wasn't married yet, Joe got on one knee and popped the question to his very shocked girlfriend.

Watch the marriage proposal and Emily's reaction in the video above.

Where does it make a differance to where one make the commitment. It is love and comes from the heart. It will most likely end in devorice anyway.

Would you want to be proposed to at an H.O.A. meeting?

Don't know what an H.O.A. meeting is but why not

Propose marriage in the presence of an audience. Find out on Maury if you're the real father. Appear on Springer to admit you're also doing your aunt. End it all on Divorce Court. There's your natural progression for some couples from the jaded eyes of this poster. (j/k, don't have a hissyfit)

this sounds political, come on, at a town hall meeting?
who takes his future wife out to pop the question at your local town meeting?
you call this romantic?

That's not an odd or unlikely place to propose.
This is:
In the free clinic, while in divorce court, between contractions, at a funeral, during his/her colonoscopy, or on a sideways Concordia. Now that would be an odd or unlikely place.

For crying out loud.
Haven't we had enough of these perpetual staged and phoney "proposals"?
(No coindence that there are always cameras around when these "sudden proposals" are made?
Give me a break! Enough already.

This wasn't phony, it's not unusual someone was video taping this. And didn't you hear them, the guy PLANNED this with the radio hosts, so of course they had cameras there to film this, it was probably part of the plan.

A lot of people love to record their proposals, it's a nice little memory to keep, so most of the people who did have their proposals recorded probably asked someone to do it for them.

No need to be so skeptic. Yes, there are phony proposals out there, but this is not one of them.
