The Evolution Of Louis CK: YouTuber Pays Tribute To His Favorite Comedian (VIDEO)

In March 2010, Louis CK hosted a tribute to George Carlin for the New York Public Library where he ruminated on comedy, having a career, and what makes for a truly great stand-up. The footage wasn't uploaded to YouTube until September of 2011, though, and since its release fans have been making some great things with it.

YouTuber JayPivot, in particular, has taken the talk and interspersed it with footage from throughout Louis' career to make a truly awesome video timeline.

So if you only know Louis from "Louie" or his stand-up specials, you're in for a treat, because there's some truly vintage clips in this tribute.

Evolution someone is evolving into someting. So what is the ourpose of this guy's evolution? Well to evolve into a comedian, it means you have to be funny. So far, this guy's evolution has a long way to go!

I thought this was going to be a slappy montage of him telling jokes from different periods, but I was taken aback at how CK just lays it all out on the line in his lecture to the library crowd. Carlin would be proud of the guy who's picked up his flag.

CK has a very different style from Carlin or Hicks. It's way more confessional, therapeutic and a bit navel gazing in nature comparatively.

I watched his reality show Louie and he made me as uncomfortable as he was in what ever situation he was in. He is a true N.Y. comedian who has pursued his career. About died last night when I saw him on Parks & Recreation - he was in love with Amy Polder and handcuff her man to the urinal so he could get her to marry him. It was really good, he can act.
