NEW YORK — The release date for an upcoming memoir by the late New York Times reporter Anthony Shadid has been moved up from late March to the end of February.

On Friday, a day after the Pulitzer Prize winner died of an apparent asthma attack in Syria, "House of Stone" was in the top 40 on Amazon.com. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt had planned to publish the book March 27, but "House of Stone" will instead come out Feb. 28.

The 43-year-old journalist had worked previously for The Associated Press, The Washington Post and The Boston Globe. He won Pulitzer Prizes for international reporting in 2004 and 2010 when he was with the Post. His other books include "Night Draw Nears," based on his reporting in Iraq.

Its funny you mentioned it. I was caught up in the imagery and poetic language of such a beautifully written phrase.

The actual title of the book was of course Night Draws Near.

Anthony Shadid was out in the field reporting.

He wasn't a network correspondent or a talking head. Anthony Shadid was a reporter's reporter, out for the story, not the big bucks fame game. It is sad that his memoir will be a best seller only because he died, when it deserves to be a best seller because he had something important to give us.

So well said.

I never heard of him. However, I love to read biographies, memiors, and auto-biographies. I started a few years ago with Jeanette Walls' "The Glass Castle" and "Half-Broke Horses". After reading the first one, I started writing my own about growing up with disabilities. Though I'm more of a poet, rather than journalist, I hope I'll be able to find and read Mr. Shadid's new book. May he RIP.

Every serious journalist speaks so highly of Mr. Shadid. I wonder if there is a collection of his articles?

It's too bad Huffpo has a story of true journalist like Shadid next to a picture of Rupert Hacker.

The only thing I want to read about Murdoch is his obituary.
