Bob Seger Pushing For September Release Of New Album

Bob Seger is hard at work on his first studio collection since 2006's Face The Music. "I’m setting myself a deadline of September 24th to have it out," Seger tells Rolling Stone. "Wish me luck."

The Detroit-based rocker released a greatest hits compilation, Ultimate Hits: Rock and Roll Never Forgets, last year. He just finished a highly successful tour built around the classics that earned him a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame: "Night Moves," "Hollywood Nights," "Like A Rock," "Against The Wind" and "Travelin' Man/Beautiful Loser," just to name a few.

Happy BDay to me!

I've been a fan since the late 70's. I was visiting my best friend one day and her brother played the Against the Wind album. I fell in love.

Soon, I was listening to ALL your music - all the time. To this day, people tell me they think of me when a Bob Seger song plays. I'd always punch in your songs in juke boxes and always had your music playing on my record players, then my cassettes and now my CD's. :)

I've seen you in Denver, Tampa, Los Angeles .... several times

I used to sing my favorite songs and I'd change the lyrics to suit a female voice (e.g. Johnny was sexy ...was the king of my nights).

In High School we had a "school skip day" and all of us (about 200) were out in the county drinking and partying and celebrating summer coming up. Someone put on Against the Wind - and I just sat there - in the early sunny spring afternoon, enjoying my friends, playing hacky sack, watching others throwin the football around ... and your music was so ... RIGHT for that day- it was a good day - a good memory.

So many other memories with your music playing in the background :)

Love me some Bob Seger and the Silver Bullit Band...can't wait...I will be one of the first to get that album/cd. I've been a fan since I was 17 years old - and being from the midwest - EVERYBODY loves Bob Seger...he will always be one of the best Rocker's out there and even though us boomers have aged...we still like our rock and roll - and that midwestern sound...

Keep us posted Bob - can't wait and hope Nita and the kids are doing well. Love ya.
